What does "FO" mean, actually ?

It means Future Oracle, it was a ground breaking game released in 78 as a text adventure.

It is the abbreviation for the FallOut post-apocalyptic role playing games made by Black Isle/Interplay in the late nineties, Alrik.

I know Fallout, although I've never played it, but I don't remember the abbreviation "FO" for it. 
I didn't buy Fallout, because it was too ... dark for my personal taste.
(Okay, I admit it, I'm weird in my taste for RPGs. )
