Skyrim Amazing Screenshot Thread

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I think with you getting your copy of skyrim to look like THAT then your next upgrade needs to be an Oculus Rift - the ultimate hiking simulator accessory. At least get it before fallout 4 comes out.

Alright I guess the ultimate hiking simulator accessory would be that pedestal you use with the Rift and actually control walking by… walking. I have to admit though that looks suspiciously like exercise and might be a trap.

That is so cool lol! Clever trap to get gamers to exercise indeed. Luckily I have two large dogs I have to walk 2-3 times a day along with going to the gym every morning so I am covered in that regard.

I hope I live long enough to see some of these cool new virtual reality tools really come into their own. Amazing what technology is doing. For now will settle with the Titan. I don't really spend my money on much outside of required things and the dogs so getting the Titan was a nice splurge - gaming is my main hobby.

Fooling around with various ENB's (Somber Unchained, Project, Seasons of Skyrim) and colors and borders. None of these are edited and are all in-game shots (except for the borders I added).

So busy working on a new character design - one version being a "softer" looking character and the other version a more "hard-ass" style. The pictures were all taken with Somber Antique using ENB binary 0.195 by Boris. Some had the film grain and sepia tones enabled and other times not as I was playing around with some minor tweaks to the ENB.

It can be hard to notice but I was also trying out two face textures. One is the classic "true to original" look by XCE. The other one is a newer face texture called "DCE - Realistic Faces" by Drumber. In general both have a nice rugged look to the textures, with XCE being a bit rougher and older looking. Drumbers has a bit more detail IMO but are also younger looking.

The body is Better Males, Sundracon version. Hair Textures by AOF. Beards and Brow by Hvergelmir. I also used Battle Hardened Warpaints by Diethardt and Netherwalk on the hard version.

Last spam for awhile. Always take a lot of shots when using a new ENB and/or making a character - got my final version done.

After about three weeks of revisions finally have the final character done for Grimulfr. I went with the hard set (see previous posts) and then made it a bit rougher by using the wonderful 40 years old Normal map by Gs_Storm.

I also used XCE high resolution dirt mod, and face, along with Battle Hardened Warpaints by Diethardt and netherwalk for the final war paint.

I got my ENB picked, my character made … now comes the lore, backstory, and history and then the adventure begins!

Three shots of the final Grimulfr.

New toys to play with. I got a GTX Titan with 6GB Vram so been pushing the bagy to its limits.

These images were taken with Unreal Cinematic Directors Cut using ENB v199. I set down-sampling from 3840 x 2160 to 1920 x 1080 and with some tweaking for my fps up to an average of 20-30 even with the huge performance hit of down-sampling.

I provided direct links if you want to see them at the full resolution.

Thanks to a recent Steam sale where I grabbed Dragonborn for €9.99 and thanks to being on vacation and thanks to this thread I finally managed to start my very serious attempt at playing through and actually finishing Skyrim :) .

I originally wanted to settle for a few mods only but this thread has definitely served as an inspiration to strive for more (thanks Wolfgrimdark :) ) and now I have finally found a good balance between visuals and performance and I'm ready to go!

I'm using quite a number of mods. All of the DLCs plus their unofficial patches, Bethesda's high res texture pack, Climates of Tamriel (plus fixes), DATGRASS, Skyrim Flora Overhaul (thanks Vurt! :) ), Enhanced Distant Terrain, several water enhancing mods, some better snow mods, cinematic fire, moss rocks, vibrant auroras, the RLO (realistic lighting overhaul), enhanced blood, all of the better cities mods, Sky UI and a few more interface tweaks, a better world map and as for ENB I'm using version 0.200 with Real Vision.

After quite a bit of reading, installing, uninstalling, editing, crashing, troubleshooting etc. the result looks very satisfactory IMHO (see below). This combo seems to be stable at ~50fps at 2560x1440 on my i5-2500K (@4.2GHz), 32GB RAM, 2x Gigabyte WindForce nVidia GeForce GTX 770 4GB SLI and a Crucial m4 256GB SSD.
The only remaining issue is brightness. Somehow the settings from the ENB and the lighting mods (RLO) seems to be not quite ideal for my VGA/monitor settings.
In good weather in broad daylight it is almost too bright and in poor weather or early morning hours/late afternoon (forget about exploring at night... night is night = pitch black dark :) ) it tends to get way too dark to keep playing and exploring.

Anyway, here are the screens from the very early game near Whiterun. As one can see I have chosen to disable DoF. Yes, distant textures are real ugly this way but in the end I found the blur of DoF to be more annoying than less detail. Oh, and the screenies don't really do it justice. It looks absolutely gorgeous in motion with the particles/insects/birds and the flowing grass when the wind gently brushes through it...

Skyrim - Finally here I come to conquer you! :)

Wow those are really nice, and a very unique looking ENB - those images had a great distinct style to them. Jealous of the FPS lol. Somber is a very big performance hog. Even with the Titan if I down-sample from 3840 (4x) my fps is about 5-9. If I switch to 2560 (2x) then I can get about 28-32 indoors and 20-24 outdoors on average. So not really playable but good for screenshots. So at the moment I am just doing 2048x1152 -> 1920x1080 which helps a little with quality and but not as nice as the 2560 which is my preferred .. on the other hand it gives me a good solid fps for playing.

Using Unreal I can get a playable 30-40 outdoors with 2560 and 50-60 indoors which is fine … but I really like Somber a the moment so reserve major down sampling for stories and screenshot expeditions :)

I finished my other game and started a new one so decided to go with somethnig different myself and settled on Somber Antique using ENB 200.

This is probably one of my all time favorites ever, Whiterun market in the rain:

Well, yours are real pieces of art :) . Since this is my first playthrough I went for a less artsy and more realistic look (thus the RLO and ENB Real Vision). Here are a few more from Riverwood and the nearby lake resort...

Oh I wouldn't say that - some of those shots are beautiful. I like the look a lot - I did 6 months on vanilla skyrim then another 6 months with a focus on realism. So this time going for a more artsy moody atmosphere. 096 and 599 are awesome shots. Love the contrast in 607 and the fog in 631 with the mill. The one with the rain 834 is also very peaceful and serene.

I just needed to change things up so the game felt new and different again :) Thanks for sharing the shots - I may have to check out Real Vision when I am tired of Somber and Unreal.

I made a tribute post of some shots on Nexus and figured I would share them here.
These shots were made with Somber Antique Core 1.5 by Tansarville (now managed by Unreal Warfare - another great ENB I highly recommend for its dark setting and superb performance values) set to Ultra Quality with all effects on. I did a minor bit of tweaking to enhance a few things and adjust contrast (slowly learning how to tweak). I am downsampling from 2560x1440 to 1920x1080 on a Samsung Monitor and my PC specs are: Intel Core i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz, 3201 Mhz, 6 Core(s); GeForce GTX TITAN 6GB; Win7 64 and 16GB Ram.

Anyhow ... on with the show :) Again nothing fancy - just simple screenshots with very only a bit of TFC fine tuning and one pose.

Spent today updating my Garm mod I have on Nexus. Some shots from the new all white husky texture.
