Skyrim Amazing Screenshot Thread

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
EDIT: @Jaz - many thanks, and me to! I am playing my final canon "modded" play through and have been writing a story around it and taking pictures as I go. Wish I had to the talent/time/patience to make a movie while doing it.

Last few for a while.

Your pics made me continue writing a fantasy story I had ditched some time ago ... set in my own world, but using several characters I had played in Skyrim. Perhaps one of your chars will worm his way into the story ... if you allow. I'm writing just for myself this time around, anyway.

Sure - be flattered if I was able to inspire anyone to write :) I do a lot of personal writing but nothing I ever post other then tid bits as I never seem to get around to actually writing things down in detail in a nice polished format.

Hehe, great :). I'm writing all the time. Quite often, games or pictures of games inspire me to write, but unless it's a professional affair (like, when I was editor-in-chief of a corporate magazine), it's bits and pieces mostly. There's no need to write the boring stuff and exposition when I know what will happen, anyway, right? :p

Sometimes I get to use those fragments years later in a different context. For example, I wrote a fragmentary Quake II fanfic of roughly 80 pages back in ... well, back in Quake II times. When I was offered to write a novel for a military SF series a few years ago, I reused several of the characters and situations of that fanfic, sometimes whole pages of text (had to translate them, though), plus I nabbed a whole chapter from one of my other 'personal projects' (about 300 pages of military (grotesque) fiction written for the drawer, or rather, myself) because it fit the theme and atmosphere of the novel.

I once used the handles of several RPGDot forumites in a fantasy novel (that had originally been inspired by SoulCalibur, mind you), but I asked those who where still available aforehand. And I used several pen&paper characters in said military SF novel ... because the series played in the universe of the p&p RPG I had played about 20 years prior. Here I also asked the players of said characters if I could use them. So you see, I tend to do stuff like this regularly :). But as I don't write professionally anymore (unless asked), all the stuff I still write is written for the drawer.

Heh. After the "Rabbit Hole" I tracked down screenshots of the first games I got on IBM PC and Commodore 64. These are the 6 games that the technician installed on our IBM PC (the first real games I got) and the first 6-pack I got for my own Commodore 64.

I wish I had gotten more motivated to write. Took me 7 years to get my BA and I was in and out of majors. I was an English major twice, as well as math and computer science, before I ended up in Psychology. If I ever finish my masters it will be in Liberal Studies.

So a little envious :) I am working on a book finally although I don't expect to finish for years - just something I started last fall and figured I would work on it a little each month. It started with something I was writing for my character in skyrim (http://home.comcast.net/~thunor/tales.html) and took on a life of its own. I love Norse mythology and wolves so it has ties into that. A link between the past and modern day involving Fenrir Wolf. Anyhow thanks for the comments!

A few parting screenshots of course :)

It took me seven years to get my diploma, so ... ;).
In (Military) Sociology, with minor subjects marketing, business informatics, labor law and social law. No language subjects, I'm afraid.
A friend of mine, on the other hand, who happens to be an author of bestselling books, well ... he majored in lit. A subject I never liked ;).

Really like the new pics. Food for my thoughts!

Thats a long time HiddenX … still sounds like it paid off.

A few shots from my day off today. Dogs went mountain hiking with me this morning so they are sleeping … and hence I got some game time in :)

These are from a trip with Kveldulfr Fenrirson (my main) and his buddy Stenvar (modded) as they treck back from Fort Dawnguard in the Fall woods. They then went to Windhelm to rest before they trek to the Shrine of Azura.

Thanks much! I post to many I know. Just not into any other games at the moment so still playing a lot. I do as much outside the game as in as I am becoming a regular at Nexus and writing stories and reading lore. I don't have a lot of free time so it is easy to stretch the game out. So until some of the kickstarters are released ... a couple more :)

Last set for awhile … I suspect I am the last one playing this lol.

Tonights adventure was with Kveldulfr and Stenvar. They heard of a secret map that would lead them to the Legend of the Eagles Nest - a secret fort high in the mountains (and one of the best home mods I have seen yet - very lore friendly and super well done with a lot of detail).

They start in Riverwood on a cloudy day:

After breaking camp:

Kveldulfr tells Stenvar to come with him as he has found a map:

They find Eagles Keep:

Inside the Byre they find a keg of mead tucked away with the animals.

They have a drink to celebrate:

Then relax by the fire as the adventure ends:

No you're not, but I'm spending far more time in SWTOR at the moment. With the exception of Dragonborn, I'm pretty much through with the Skyrim story-related content, and while I'd really like to revisit Solstheim, there's still so much ahead of me in SWTOR (still not through with the storyline of my first character/class).

Despite, or rather, because of this, I always enjoy your pictures ... they make me pull old characters out of drawers :).

Great shots! Do you have a list of the mods you are using? I'm curious about the cities in the pics. Are you using and city enhancement mods?

Hi - Sure, glad to list them. I had to make a list for a friend of mine on 5/6/13 so that is fairly up to date. I just took screenshots since it was easiest since many mods don't have an ESP. Also most of my town mods I got from steam. Weird how it worked out that way. I prefer Nexus but the town mods are very stable and it was easier to keep them separated and I had found most of them on steam first.

http://home.comcast.net/~thunor/images/hosted/config/config.html#mods

I have also added a few more mods since then - one running, sprinting and jumping animations; another one that adds commands for doing poses; a couple of armor mods; a shepherd dog companion; and improved book covers.

Of course the biggest improvement as far as screenshots and looks is a good ENB. Since I am using COT3.1 I use Project ENB 119 by Bronze316. He does great work and good support., Its an older ENB but he prefers hardware AA. I use the fantasy preset mainly. But there are many good ENB's out there - and some nice ones using the most current ENB versions.

Okay I was wrong … wasn't my last set :p

While this Sparticus armor is not my style (not as lore friendly although I suppose it relates a little to the Imperial/Roman look) I think its pretty cool. It was just released today so of course I had to try it out.
