Yes folks, I'm having a flashback to the old days. I remember when breakdancing first came out. The heavyweight on our wrestling team was actually pretty good at it…which was a bit disturbing to watch.

The Herbie Hancock one wasnt as bad tho, a bunch of mannequins arent able to convey the utter lameness that dude was.
I have a good idea - post the WORST most cringe-inducing 80's you can! Ill see what I can dredge up.
this video supposedly killed Billy Squier's career in one fell swoop
I dare you to try and make it thru this entire Krokus video
how can we leave Boy George out of any 80's retrospective?

I couldn't find the other option, the banned British video for this song, but I think this user-made vid might be every bit as bad.

Some random more. There“s just too many!
Bowie/Jagger - Dancing in the Streets
Carl Lewis - Break It Up
Journey - Separate Ways
From the more recent ones, I“d recommend
Dancing Butterflies - Let“s Save Our Environment

Loads of videos, some referred to as "really campy". I think I'll stick with my Fields of the Nephilim…
(Who, ironically, are campy too, in their own way. Especially their videos…

What?!?!? All kidding aside, that song was great actually, one of the best from the 80's imo. Any video that includes a midget automatically gets bonus points as far as I'm concerned.
Another of my favorites from around that time…

'Sunglasses at Night' gets a vote for one of the all time dumb song ideas ever.

I always hated this song too, 99 Luftballoons or whatever it was called.

I picked up a bunch of stuff on the ECM Touchstones re-release list … some cool avant jazz of the 70's … haven't started listening yet … will tomorrow have me listening to Bley, Dejohnette, Walcott, or … ?

Dejohnette, Dejohnette!
Max Roach - We Insist! Freedom Now (1962)
This album kicks ass, haha.
Also, these vids are pretty sweet.
Max Roach and Abbey Lincoln I
Max Roach and Abbey Lincoln II
Plus, Ulver - Shadows of the Sun (2007)
Somewhat dark, but peaceful at the same time. Cool "falling asleep" album.

I ended up just having my iPod with me most of the day … but Paul Bley's amazing 'Open, to Love' won the 'most played' award …

Hip-hop? Well, we do have a thread going about torture—does that count?

Hip-hop as relaxation? Maybe we're not talking about the same stuff. There's a genre called trip-hop that's got roots in hip-hop and is pretty laid back, but that's definitely not what Eminem is doing.

Relaxing doen't really work when listening to Eminem but G-funk or Nas songs do the trick for me,but heck I even relax with some NWA songs(Express Yourself). But I think no-one can deny that Lose Yourself and Stan were great songs.

Madvillain“s Madvillainy from 2004
and Wu Tang Clan“s 36 Chambers from 1992
However, by far my favourite "hiphoppy" album is DJ Shadow“s Endtroducing… from 1996.
But that one“s genre transcending.

Building Steam with a Grain of Sand
Midnight in a Perfect World
What Does Your Soul Look Like, Pt. 1
One of the best albums of 90“s imo
