Default The Witcher 2 - Video, Screens

August 20th, 2010, 07:41
News on The Witcher 2 has been quiet so far but this is a small start. Omega points out a teaser trailer for their GamesCom presentation - it's short but has some glimpses of new footage. There's also new screens at Gamikaze.pl.
In addition, there's a German preview at 4Players.de and a French one at PlayFrance.
More information.

For anyone interested, Google has a translation service.

So here's the German article at 4Players.de and the French one at PlayFrance in some sort of English…

Hope it'll be better than the first one. The combat was really uninteresting + i hope you can jump this time around at least, a character like that needs to be able to if he's going to be/feel even remotely believable.

Looks like it's going in the direction of the Thief series a bit

juding from these vids (cam) at least:

I totally disagree. I thought the combat was engaging and I really liked the "Simon Says" mechanics. I fear that The Witcher 2 will go the same way that Summoner (by Volition) went in terms of changes to the combat system from the first to the second game

The Witcher combat system was unbelievably bad.

It was a pretty strong contrast to the atmosphere and setting.

With an interesting character and combat system, it would have been so much better.

I think the vids in here are of a bit better quality and contain some rather interesting bits in the beginning (story flow chart especially):

1. The Witcher 2
2. Risen 2
3. Dead Space 2

A lot of 2's there.

If I had to list my most anticipated future releases, those would be the top 3.

Interesting character???? I presume you haven't read anything of Sapkowskis work, have you?

You definitely should. This is one character that has a profile that is so much ahead of lifeless clichés (think of Elric by Moorcock) or comic book shallowness (think of Drizzt).

I don't think I played a solo RPG with RTP combat game that had better working mechanics. When my char died I always knew why he did - that is more than you could say about other titles.

I think he meant character and combat system as one thing, as in "character and combat" system. Might be wrong though. In any case, the character development was fairly boring in TW1.

Edit: Beat me to it.
