Default Arcania - GamesCom Trailer

August 18th, 2010, 11:34
IGN has a GamesCom Arcania trailer, with two minutes showing a mix of CGI storytelling and in-game footage. It certainly looks more advanced than older videos, which is good news.
Thanks, Omega!
More information.

Well Arcania never really grasped my attenton, but I have to admit that it looks a lot more interesting than before.

Pretty cheesy narrator. But it's nice to see the color. Risen (my first Gothic game) was pretty bland, colorically speaking.

Risen bland in terms of color?

I find that pretty surprising… I thought it was beautiful and lush - especially the fantastic lighting…

Hmmm…

Well, I played the 360 port, so that might've been responsible for my graphical underwhelment.

Nice word

Arcania looks ok - but really quite arcade-ish…

The GC previews say it's not really a Gothic game. The Gothic feeling is gone.

No surprise…

It's hard to duplicate something like that.

I'm not expecting much "soul" from this game, but I guess it could be ok in some ways. We'll see.

To me, it's an good RPG anyway, but I just can't compare it, since I never played Gothic 2 & 3.
Played only a few bits from the beginning.

The later GC previews are more positive. Now it'S ca. 50/50 between "Gothic" and "no Gothic".
