Bit of an unfair joke considering beth stopped making micro dlc after that debacle whereas companies like bioware are getting away with alternate costume dlcs.

I never understood the whole hoopla over that. Some people LIKE that kind of stuff; witness the whole Sims "expansions" thing. If you don't like it just ignore it like I did.

Why would anyone still buy this junk when you can get some GOTY edition? Ofc the real question is : why would anyone buy Oblivion in the first place?

Yes, but the majority of RPG players is male.
And this type of players just doesn't like to buy SIMs expansions …

It's like … "boys' stuff" vs. "girls' stuff" …

Horse armor and stuff sold extremely well though. I think that was because it was a new idea and people felt like they wanted more content for their game, not realizing how small and pointless it was.
