The Totally NEW Team Corwin Thread
December 8th, 2011, 21:08
So we are running misery peak as group first time? Works for me. I got lvl 2 just running some on hard and explores. I don't know if I did all the outside on hard, but will so won't need to log this one in then until tomorrow. Might run Tao to finish her to 20 tonight barring any new emergencies here.

That's what was instructed in this thread, so that's what I did. Of course, we seemed to have a little trouble sticking to the plan previously, so maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but my fury over that particular debacle has just about run its course. I think I ended up with 6100XP by following the plan (~110 slayers, 2 rares, which would vary for everyone obviously).

I've become level 6 this time !
Any I had a nice chat with Cm again - any time I chat with her my respect for her increases !
Now I'm going to sleep, because it is 1 in the middle of the night.
The small program I have here says that it is now 9 in the evening in New York, and 12 (high noon) in Canberra.

Jo will probably be best to ask for Monk advice; I've not managed to find a build I liked. I did end up burning to +5 Lesser Hearts to bring Rachail to pure Fighter after all. At about 9-10 I lose interest. I know Halfling I took the Dragonmarks, and had considerable healing ability. I healed a few groups using just those, actually. Surprised a few people. Also was funny when they ran out and the Cleric we didn't have started getting cursed at.
Of course, taking the marks means sacrifice elsewhere; you burn 3 feats to get Heal, and considerable ap to get more uses. Fighter is a better class for taking Dragonmarks; no other class can fit the feats, or at least all of them.
Ijii the FvS is almost 6, but I have to hold off until my bro's Pally and Ranger catch up. Which means I won't be running anything low level for awhile. Pump is shelved until they fix the stupid pet going inactive bug.
Blame Corwin, since he ran to 2 before any of us even TRed. I also blame Peter, because he's the group scapegoat in the rare case that it isn't his fault.
You'll have lag, Corwin, but it's only Korthos so we should be fine. We'll just park you at the entrance and complete, and you can come along as you can and get the chests afterwards.

I think we can do the 3 wilderness quests on elite before doing Miserys peak on elite. My pally have only done the quests on the village on elite.
My cleric soloed the wilderness quests and Miserys peak on hard. It was not too bad. He's in Stormreach as level 3.
If someone is missing the Korthos village quests on elite then we can do them first. We do Miserys peak last when all other quests are done

I TRed Mirys last night. Unlike Fireflash I skipped Korthos initially and got some gear out. Did all but one of the Korthos quests before MP on hard. This life shes and Evoker caster build, though at low levels I'm just meleeing with a scimmy and a large shield.

The pre-built builds suck no matter the class though.
There seems to be two schools of Monks; Min-maxed ones focusing on STR/CON or WIS/CON, or 'balanced' ones like Rachail's old build, my old Halfling Monk, and presumably Mariannelle and Kerriatao's builds.
I can't say which is more effective.
My first Monk, Wind Stance was king. Then Ki regen was weakened, making Sun equal. Now all 4 are equal pretty much, with Earth being strong for tanking, Sun or Wind for DPS, and Water for AC/DC's on Stunning Fist.
AP's are extremely tight for Monks, and the requirements for the best of the stances are high; you won't be getting too many. It's also a clicky-based class, moreso than even Paladins. You have to constantly stream ki strikes, in combos to open up finishers.
I'd go Light since you have no gear for a Monk, and those have better self healing and more utility. Dark Monks are better for DPS, with 2d6 SA damage and Touch of Death (500 neg energy damage, 250 on save).

I think I did them even on level 4 or perhaps even level 3.
On elite, I mean.
The imho most difficult one can be The Collaborateur - because of the many foes there. A hireling could help there, perhaps.
P.S. : I saw you in the "who's online" list being on the island.
I would have liked to be there, too, but I thought that you wouldn't see me because of different instances. So I did "protect Baudry's interests" instead to gain more Free Agents favour - but It soon made me remember why I hated this quest chain.
