23 hours in and the problem is still not resolved. *Sigh*

Worse weekend ever

Have to start work tomorrow, hopefully Anet will be extending the Beta Weekend Event.

To everybody else who has managed to get in and has been playing happily: I hate and envy you…

Just kidding! No bitterness from me - hope everybody is having fun!

World design is great, especially how artistic it is (just like GW1). The cities are IMMENSE - it's really hard to describe the scale… suffice it to say that waypoints were implemented in each province to get around - and it can still be a trek to get back from a defeat. Persistent world.

As far as I've seen, there are no kill 10, collect 20, & scratch your ass 10x kind of quests. So very refreshing. Most of your experience comes from somewhat spontaneous interactive events such as escorts, defending an outpost, assaulting a base, etc.. Best of all, the combat is fun! And downright difficult at times.

It's a completely different system than what's become the tired and boring norm of late, of have 20,30,40 skills all on your skill bar, all at once, but typically long cooldowns.
A little more explanation if you don't mind…
Is the weapon->skill set thing per weapon or per weapon type? For example, I'm naked. I find a copper shortsword on the ground. Does it already have 5 pre-set skills there that I can't change? or is it empty and I assign 5 of my skills to that weapon (I'm guessing relevant to the weapon type?).
And after that, I keep walking. People stare at me and I wonder why, until I realize I'm a naked dude walking with a sword. Then I find a bronze shortsword. Again, is it empty? does it have the same skills as the copper because they're both shortswords? or do I assign 5 different skills to it?
A little ashamed of being naked, I tie my old copper sword to my waist to somewhat cover my private part. I keep walking, and find a sling. Again, does it come empty of skills, do I assign a new different set (and are skills related to the weapon so the skills I can assign to the sling are a different set than the ones I assign shortswords?).
About the 5 common skills not weapon-related. Can I change them at will or do I have to go back to town and reset the adventure like in GW1?
Luckily, before submitting this post I found a bikini chainmail so no more naked questions.

The skills are bound to your weapon type (3 for mainhand, 2 for offhand and 5 for 2 hander) and you can not change them so a lv1 training mace will give the same skills as a lv50 epic one.
It is basically the same generic mmo system you have seen a million times over except you only have accsess to 5x skills at any one time + a different row of 5 skills that do not change.
More annoying then anything really as some classes (mesmer+warrior)really require you to bind 5-6 weapon sets to hotkeys inorder to make full use of the class.
