Massive IPv6 Rollout

Apparently there's some big rollout of IPv6 today.

In case you didn't know the number of available IP addresses began to run out several years ago (255.255.255.255). This was predicted and planned for with the update of IPv6 which ISPs et al have been slow to adopt for various reasons. Today there has been update.
One of my questions has been backwards/forwards compatibility with IPv4

I wonder if this is why GoDaddy was down last night? I was trying to make some changes to a site I manage and they were down all night.
