Default Modern Slavery

July 17th, 2012, 17:23

it seems that it still hasn't vanished from our planet : http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/ju…ns?INTCMP=SRCH

Now, everybody knows what's going on in South America (it's an "open secret"), but this is within Europe !

Why do people do that ? Simple : Because they can, and they can because they are driven by greed. Not having to pay for something is always a good hook for greed.

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction. (E.F.Schumacher, Economist, Source)

Anyone that thinks slavery has vanished is woefully naive. There was a slavery case, very similar to this one, in Long Island (New York) either last year or the year before, and that doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of the illegal sex industry.

Or their business is so bad they have to use slaves to make it work. Or it's just a flat out power trip - some people get great pleasure from making other people do things.

What gets really sad is when people fight to protect their slave masters because they are even more afraid of what happens to them if they can't be a slave anymore.

Think of the benefits of slavery such as job security!! Then for those of you who espouse the credo of 'greatest good for the greatest number', doesn't slavery support that? Well not for the slaves perhaps, but so long as they are a minority….!!!

Please note I am NOT really advocating slavery!!

If God said it, then that settles it!!

It's very common to use illegal immigrants in such a way. They can't do much to prevent that, if they go to the police they'll most likely be thrown out of the county, and also they suffer the risk of their "employer" informing immigration that they are their illegally. If they try to escape they might not find any place to live, and not get any food either. So it's really hard to solve the situation, unless you somehow can solve the illegal immigrants issue.
