So, not sure where your going with that. That doesn't change that they don't own the rights and would have to acquire them. Profits and strong interest from the enhanced editions would help that obviously.

If he is able to deliver, means if the audience is happy, he can grab just any sum needed on Kickstarter for BG3. And 4.
But why would he take the responsibility? It's better to blame it on customers if sales fail.

As I said we don't know the arrangements they have in relation to acquiring the rights to make BG3.

Im a bit dumb after having being home with the mother of all colds for a week, but which partners are holding them in line?

I have Kickstarted about a dozen projects but I wouldn't back BG3 on principle. I'm not kickstarting something so that Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro / Bioware EA etc can all earn license fees. They have enough money to fund BG3 if they want to.
