A New York Times article on the so-called "Repair Cafés" : http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/09/wo…anted=all&_r=0
An article by Wired on the same phenomenon : http://www.wired.com/design/2012/05/fixer-collectives/

Quite uninteresting, imho : http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph…GirlShowGhetto
This can also be applied to video games …

Gangnam Style without Music.

Funny. What's sad is that if you remove the music from a music video, it's GEMA-compatible.

For the record, in Germany most music videos on Youtube are blocked because of GEMA, our version of the RIAA. We can't even see the original Gangam Style without a proxy, even though the video is officially royalty free.

Everyone please read this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultivation_theory

It's an very interesting article - and it fits good to my long-held suspicion that a similar process is going on with video games, too.

Imho extremely interesting ! : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_law_of_oligarchy
What this article lacks, is, that the German-language article mentions 2 studies which tried to see whether this law can be applied to Wikipedia as well.
According to the most recent study, it does.

This is THE explanation for so many processes I see in both economy & social behaviour I've been looking for !

I just found this, via the SWTOR PvP forums : http://www.sirlin.net/articles/playi…in-part-1.html

It's an interesting read.

Mrs. Doris Lessing, who had received many prizes, died 2 days ago.

Here's a fun, geeky kickstarter:

Smartphone controlled paper airplane. I want! But I'm not sure if I can spare 40 bucks for it …

Just adding this here, hoping that it doesn't get forgotten : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technopoly

This book was published 1992.
Today, almost everything of it has become true.
It took 20 years for that.

Interesting is that there seems to exist things like "corporate narcism", "group narcism" and "cultural narcism", too …
