I have SS2, how about SS1, Gog?

Still, I wouldn't mind seeing it on a site like GOG just to make more people aware of it.

I wish someone would remake SS1. The graphics border on unplayable now, but the game itself is incredible. I regularly fire it up in Dosbox.

SSP runs on Windows XP/Vista/7 via the included DOSbox emulation. On XP it can also run outside an DOSbox emulation (NTVDM).

SS1 works great in Win7 x64, i use the one from systemshock.org, looks acceptable in higher resolution and it obviously plays a lot better with mouse look, i remember i used to hate the controlls.

The 14th of Feb seem to be a busy day:
- release of System Shock 2 on GoG
- Groupees Bemine anniversary (with Two worlds 2, and one of the Eschalon Books)
- Rebellion revealing a new (full, not DLC) Nazi Zombie Army Sniper Elite game (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/gaming/n…rse-video.html)
Brain/wallet overload!

Wonder if they release SS1.
Control setting is strange, like flying simulators or something.
I was able to beat Ultima Underworld despite strange controls.
Now I need to remind what to do after three months delay. Similiar situation in BG2 results few wasted hours to remind what to do.

I feel guilty only paying $9.99 for this game.

Any first impressions regarding performance and graphics on Win XP/7?
They also mention on the page co-op; how does that work? Is it LAN?

First impressions that are not mine - graphics has glitches on (and only on) Intel GPUs. There is a solution on GOG forums to that issue however, so not a biggie.
On the other hand, we're at RPGwatch and I don't think any of us uses Intel GPU.

There are mods that improve the graphics a lot. I recommend those. The old link I have to shtup no longer works though.
Ah, found this one, it's been rehosted.

Also this site is a good one for mods/fixes/etc:

No I didn't forget. I never used that site, since it's not very user friendly.
February 14th, 2013, 23:47
you're missing out on a lot of mods though, it has always been the no.1 mod site for SS2.. Not very user friendly? I don't see what's so hard with going to the mod forum and download the mods, can't get much easier than that

Yes it could actually be organized rather than a bunch of random posts to a forum. Reality check!
February 15th, 2013, 00:06
lol, it takes ~30 seconds to read the 2 pages of topics in the mod forum. I mean it's hardly Skyrim Nexus with tens of thousands of mods. All mods are also tagged, so if you search for graphics you'll get a list of all graphics mods.. but whatever.
