In my game, you move around from a top-down perspective. However, I want to know how you all want fights to be. Should they be Pokemon style, or turn based from the side, or just regular top-down. Thanks for your opinion.

I have never played Pokemon so I have no idea what that means. My preference would also be for tactical turn-based (meaning you can move your characters on the battlefield). If you're doing more of a JRPG turn-based style then you need to come up with some very interesting mechanics to keep it from becoming tedious; because selecting "attack" over and over again / occasionally using a healing item is not fun.

Real-time combat is usually monotonous IMO (Button mashing), and doesn't work well without a controller, so it's a really poor choice for a mobile game because touch screens don't always respond perfectly.

Thanks, that makes sense.

I feel that that the market is too crowded and that I (with my limited skill) could not add anything new to it.
