It said the limit was 80x80 though I notice a lot of people have much bigger avatars?

What's the rule?

My avatar is actually also very big but you can't see that because the black edges blend in with the board…..
I actually thought the size of the avatar would grow with the number of posts, but that probably would have meant that Corwin's should have been the size of a desktop wallpaper by now…..
