Condemned: Criminal Origins

No one playing up "Condemned: Criminal Origins" anymore? I picked it up online with great discount and installed several weeks ago. It ran well so far on vista (progress been slow though, in second chapter now), except the hardware sound acceleration option always grey out and although using 1680x1050 widescreen resolution, everything on main screen still looks unsightly large and little pixelated.

The game is great: gameplay - nice and well balanced, not too difficult; Graphics - so so (after two years been released); combat: intense and bloody close-quarter fights, together with creepy sound effects, Condemned really conjures up tons of atmosphere. Nothing worked your up more than bunch of frantic screaming psychos and sociopath coming down on you in dark, claustrophobic, derelict corridor with only club or steel pipe on your hand, it's like = "Heere they come... Yeeehaaww! Raarr!....Ackk! ugh!, .....die!die!die!"

Now looking forward to its sequel as well. The boxshot looks cool.

I played the game and found that the atmosphere is great, but the gameplay and story are at least a bit strange. As far as I remember you can't really jump which I found a bit annoying since Condemned predominantly plays like a fps. Not going into particulars about the story, but I'd think that it's not particular satisfying. However the atmosphere is really intense... the developers promised that the second part would be btter when it comes to story, so I guess I'm looking forward to it.
