Just on a funny note, Hines goes out of his way to say Sawyer is full of shit and that the issue isn't related to how the game saves data, but then one of the fixes is to turn off auto save. eh?

Only if you don't read explanations. Save bloating that Sawyer talks about is caused by items moving from their default positions - the number of saves you make via autosave etc. is irrelevant. Save corruption is a different matter, that could be affected by the number of times you save or some other problem occuring during the saving itself, hence the suggestion to disable autosaves.

In general, if you overwrite the same file hundreds of times it will get corrupt eventually. That's the problem with 3 autosaves that update themselves constantly. Autosaves are a great idea in theory, but kinda lousy in practice. Especially in a montrous game like Skyrim. If your game was only 30 hours long, you might never have a problem.
