Precursors - Coming to Gamersgate

OK, so I guess people aren't suffering some big DRM snafu, eh?

What a disaster!!! To summarize:

(1) No manuals
(2) No patches applied
(3) Crappy translations
(4) DRM issues
(5) ATI issues

I can't understand what Gamersgate was thinking releasing it in this state. Does this industry have any integrity??!! (rhetorical question)

Despite the issues that surround these games, I'd still recommend giving Precursors a chance (haven't played Xenus II yet, so I can't speak for it) It's certainly rough around the edges, with an awkward interface that takes some time to get used to, potential performance issues, etc, but despite these rough spots, I appreciate the creativity and character that is evident in Precursors. If you're willing to overlook the rough spots, Precursors is very enjoyable - and this is coming from someone who has experienced annoying technical/performance issues (although this morning I think I finally got it running stable). It just takes an open-mind and a bit of patience to enjoy.

Such is often the way with creative and ambitious projects that dare to tread off the well-beaten path. I have no problem with that. I grudgingly liked Boiling Point 1.0. :p

It is a shame about the patches, though. Does anyone know if the Russian patches are compatible with this new English release, or if there is an English patch somewhere?

They released those patches only for the Russian retail version. They don't work, as far as I know, with the Russian digital version and with the english digital version.
For now there isn't any workaround.

Ah, thanks much.

Not exactly the answer I wanted to hear, but thanks just the same. :p

Think I'll be picking these up after the holidays one at a time. Gotta roll the dice and encourage the risk takers in this biz. I can't take any more uninspired Duck Hunts or glorified Choose Your Own Adventure books masquerading as RPGs.

Actually there might be a workaround at least with Precursors.
This is a little more technical but I'll quote what I've read in another forum...
Universal extractor can be used to unpack the patch files (Patches-scrolls for example.) just avoid overwriting any file from 2010 in the main directory as those are the .dll's for the copy protection and the exe, not every fix is applied this way but most are covered although unfortunately for Xenus 2 game.dll is not.
(The extra folders for Xenus 2 update should be used as well minus the logo.avi video file.)

Holy shit Game Factory Interactive guys even stole some stuff from pirates.:S

Here is a special note from Trivium group.:p
Special note for GFI:
1. It was a bad idea to take *our crack* and wrap it with
SecuROM. Of course the game will NOT work after that.
Next time test it before sale *facepalm*

2. Your retail setup is not even patched, while you should
have updated files from the developer. Fail.

3. We provide our old unprotected main executable as a crack
for 1.0 and the patch 1.0.1 with our keygen as a bonus :)

And GamersGate is selling this shit for 30 bucks. Those Russian must have bribed them with some vodka.

Valve (or whoever is responsible for the Steam releases) has done that several times (using no-cd cracks) for the Steam releases heh, nothing new.
