I believe there was a couple of updates to the system in the recent past.

Methinks its an attempt to cash in to make a Fallout 3 clone of sorts using an old IP. Isn't Brian Jones doing a Wasteland with a license back from EA?

Cash in then I say. I enjoyed Fallout 3 and New Vegas was even better with a great storyline. So if they can make a post-apocalyptic game with a great story, lots of exploration and decent skills then I'll buy it.
