I agree, already grabbed 6 games and thinking about the Age of Wonders bundle

4 games here, and trying hard to stick to my budget. I still haven't gotten around to starting Eschalon 3.

The only thing saving me is the fact that I already have 90% of the classics I wanted off there, so mostly it's indie titles. Since most indies seem to either release point and click adventures, or puzzle/platformers, I'm somewhat safe. I only buy the latter out of impulse, never been much for adventure games.

I picked up Summoner for $1.49. It looked interesting so I jumped on it.

So true.

I was a little disappointed. I don't think they're gonna have Baldur's Gate or Planescape: Torment or any of those games on the 80-90% off offer - I think they were just in the bundle. So far, I've only gotten Eador.

Maybe the backlog won't get much worse with this sale after all...

Restraint.

Restraint much?
Yes I have indeed.

So far, I've bought D&D's bundle (even though I already had 7 of them in boxed versions - Only missed Neverwinter Nights II, DragonShard and Demon Stone) and Aarklash the Legacy on friday.

On saturday, I bought this cute little game called South Park : Costume Quest.
Hum. Did I get this right? Oh no. Sorry. What I meant to say was that I bought a cute little game that the creators of South Park decided to copy many elements from.
An indie game called Costume Quest that came out at one point in 2011.
Fun game but disappointed that it was plagiarized from.
Not impressed by the Parkerman and Stoneman about this…

Anywho, I think that I've bought pretty much all that I wanted from Gog for the time being.

Are you sure about South Park? SP was in development for years (development started in 2009), delay after delay, so I'm not sure there was any plagiarizing unless they saw Costume Quest in 2011 and decided to change gameplay after the fact? I doubt it.

If anything I think both SP: SoT and CQ copied from Mario RPG.

I guess I'm alone in the world on this one.
Haven't seen anyting remotely related to plagiarism by them South Parkers on anything anywhere anytime…

I guess I am and always will be a conspiracy theorist… :shakefist: :paranoid:

Dragonshard is a really fun D&D RTS that innovates, and being an older game you can really crank it all up on a modern pc and it looks good.

Indeed.

I didn't hesitate one second when I saw that bundle for sale.
I'll play that game one day, when I get to it… :smug:

I bought Risen 1 and 2, might even play them someday, and then two great classics: Seven Cities of Gold and Conquest of the New World. Risen has to wait and I've already loaded both of the oldies on the computer and am enjoying exploring new continents. I found the lost Dutchmen mine in one game, but I haven't ever found the fountain of youth or the War Temple yet-CNW.

I wish a virus wipes all of those oldies so you at least try Risen games. :p
Cmon man, after so many posts about those, how can you resist the temptation to see what's the fuss about?

The big thing is that I couldn't finish any of the Gothics, and Risen is by the same company. I did sorta like Gothic 3, but the others were "meh" to me. I haven't tried any of them in years though. Part of the issue, in the Gothic games at least, was that it was difficult to play as a mage, especially early.

I think that Gothic II has to be experienced by any whom are interested in action RPG's. I've had a great experience playing it. Gothic I is nice too by the second opus is grand.

Heck, I got so immersed into their stories that I completed them.
To complete a game is a seldom feat for me.

I'm talking to Fluent and CRPGnut here.

I thought Gothic 1 was a great game. Excellent even. I hear G2 is the crown jewel of RPGs, so I do look forward to playing it sometime soon.

That said, Baldur's Gate has drawn me in so much that I think I will play both games in that series first before hitting something different.

Surprisingly, I've completed 3 games in the past month or 2. Risen 2, Gothic, Vampire - Bloodlines. Working on Baldur's Gate now. You can say I have role-playing game fever, and there is no saving throw :D.

When I read the "your dream game" thread I thought of a simple yet reactive RPG where you could choose between class 'templates' like 'divine warrior/ diplomat', 'fighter/ rogue' and 'specialist wizard', with certain skills being available to everyone and some being class specific.

Then I thought, hey... maybe just play Gothic.

I never really got into that series though. The ultra steep power curve was always a turn off among other things. When I want to play a paladin, I don't want to start out as a peasant with a rake.

Starting off weak in Gothic was actually my favorite part. Give me peasant with a rake for the first 10 levels and a gradual progression towards power.

Just goes to show that everyone's tastes are different. :)
