Gothic 3 Geldern: Seven rings of the Alchemists?

Alright, I really wanna do this quest, but I've spent at least two hours searching for that last ring and I just can't find it. I got 6 (though, by now, I don't exactly remember where I got 'em all from), but I just can't get the 7th! Help anyone? Thanks! :)

The locked house next to the north gate? Would that be the one guarded by two orcs? =\ Because, well, I'm kinda clueless as to how to get in there. :p

i think you can just walk up to the door and pick it right in front of the guards
 
actually you can snatch the ring without even opening/unlocking the door if you are standing at the right angle.
