New release date for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - August 2016:

No Compromise on Quality - New Release Date for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

As you may have already seen by reading and watching the many previews for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, our aim is for it to be a worthy successor to Human Revolution, and to improve upon that game in every way possible. I know that expectations are extremely high, and we not only want to meet those expectations, but exceed them.

We’re confident and proud of the game so far. However, as we are now playing through the game in full we can see that it will require more time in post - production for tuning, iterations, and refinement to meet our high standards. In order to achieve this, we need to move the release of the game to August 23rd, 2016.

We are sorry to disappoint you with this news, and also thank you for all of your support and comments. This game is a huge part of our lives, and we don’t want to compromise on its quality.

So please be patient with us a little longer, and thanks as always for your passion and support – through thick and thin. It’s a huge responsibility to work on Deus Ex Mankind Divided - we know, but also a huge privilege. We’re determined to deliver the best game we can.

David Anfossi – Eidos-Montreal Head of Studio

Fine by me. I figure February is about when Fallout 4 will be patched up to a level where I'll want to play it, so I'll have that going on.

Fine by me too. I hope to see more non-shooter role playing pieces this time and if that takes an extra year, I'm okay with it, much less a few extra months.

Thats a long delay. I think it is telling us that they hope to redesign something or add new features or even whole new areas. Fixing some bugs or adding polish wouldn't take over half year. Thats a good thing because had they have taken that extra time with DX:hr, they could have avoided some well known issues like boss battles and maybe we could have seen the cut montreal city hub area for instance.

Nooooooooooooooooooo, this was my new year gaming plan. Although, now it means that the Canadian dollars can get better and it won't be so expensive to buy and it's going to be less buggy… Perks!

Going by rumors, the delay might be a result of the recent Paris terrorists attacks. There is a rumor Paris was going to be visited in the game.

DX future guesses have been very scary-right. I'm still amused that they got Justin Trudeau becoming Prime Minister right, now he just need to stay there until 2027…

Goody!
That way I don't have to postpone XCOM2 and most probably Tomb Raider 2.

There was a time I hated delays but recently with so many games I want to play... It's good news. :D

Getting the kind of depth and reactivity I expect from a Deus Ex game requires a lot of iteration. I can easily believe another six months of that just to give the developers time to 'think of everything'.

I really hope this isn't a reaction to the Islamic jihadist attacks in Paris. Removing content from a game in response to that kind of atrocity is exactly the wrong kind of response, IMHO. We shouldn't let people like that dictate what is acceptable in our entertainment, no matter how indirectly cloaked in appeals to 'sensitivity' or whatnot. Also, purely from a game design perspective slicing out a chunk of content would mean either a papered-over hole in the narrative or a hole filled in with some new replacement content that had to be put together on a shorter schedule, with less time to polish. Either alternative seems like it would make the game worse. I'll wait happily to get a better game, but waiting to get a worse one? No thanks.

Where did you hear this rumor?

As long as there's nothing concrete to that rumor, why don't we just pretend they're not that stupid?

As for the delay, I'm ok with it. I was looking forward to a great early 2016 - but I know I won't have anywhere near the time to play the games anyway.

I'm getting increasingly frustrated with the amount of great LONG games coming out - as I get less and less time to play them.

Common 1st world problem, I know, but I just don't know what to do about it.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed. I'm not going to have much time for gaming after the holidays, but this is the type of game I could be satisfied playing in smaller chunks.

Why do ppl care about this kind of delays anyway?
You are going to get it eventually, sooner or later.
Just do something else in the meantime.

Why do ppl care about sex anyway?
You are (probably) going to get it eventually, sooner or later.

Not a good analogy.
To get sex you need either:
1) to be appiling to wymenz I.e. Kool and shit.
2) to go out of your way if ur a nerd.
3) have lots of moneyz.

Or you can always pay a hoe.

With vidya games you only need to wait for the inevitable 5 bucks humble bundle. Or pirate everything.
