Is a dictatorship better than a democracy?

Let's remember that Iraq was a creation of a dying British Empire and included peoples and tribes which should have never been forced into living in one country. Similar situation happened to imperial India which was hastily abandoned by British and which, eventually, split into 4 separate countries (with millions of Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and Sri Lankans dying during that process...

Some corrections.

India was split into 3, the India we have now, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka was never part of India and it was never split off from India. However before the British invasion, Sri Lanka was not a single country like its is today. It had separate Tamil and Sinhala kingdoms. After the British left, the majority sinhalese came to power and that caused the civil war later on. Lots of people died on both side but majority were Tamils.

Most contemporary democracies are actually oligarchies.
Yeah, this. Plutocracies vs Democratorships vs Totalitarianism? The choices we have... Democracy only works on a small scale, just like most other romantic ideologies.

Indirect democracy is proving to be pretty pointless. The people need more direct votes on issues. Like whether to go to war for starters.

When talking about direct democracy large groups of people always point out that people are too stupid to vote directly. So there is no hope.

I think the only way to achieve peace and harmony in this planet is with removal of the entire human population with full nuclear biological and chemical war. Time to dust off the rubbish from the face of the planet. Perhaps in 100 million years species with more intelligence will inherit the planet.

Quick answer: no. Democracies may be pretty hectic, violent places when they are nascent, but historically it's proven that once established democracies simply do not go to war with other democracies. Pretty cool concept IMO.
