I live and have lived in several cities in the southern cone of South America. Never once in my life I have seem or heard of people rioting in the streets and burning shit up.

I'm in my mid-20's, btw.

Moving the goalpost is quite easy, but it just means you were wrong.

Are you going to say Sao Paulo is not in Southern Brasil now ? Maybe I should be looking only at the little town of Chapeno (with the ~ on the n) ?

Sorry, that was a weird typo or something which I missed and must correct, I haven't lived all my life in southern Brazil, I actually moved here with my family during the year 2000 from my home country(Uruguay). I think I meant to say "most of my life" and somehow it came out wrong.

And São Paulo is not in Southern Brazil(it is part of the southeast region which I mentioned). I have lived in Florianópolis, Porto Alegre and Curitiba, which are the biggest cities in the south and I challenge you to find a riot or something of the sort.

Riots are very common in Brazil, when compared to European countries and USA.

The crime rates in Brazil are off the roof.

It's pretty crazy that you are so ignorant about the country you live in. I've spent time in the favelas of Salvador, which is not the most dangerous city in Brazil. And it's 10 times more dangerous than anything in the Nordic countries, or anywhere in Europe for that matter (Including eastern Europe). It was impossible to move around without the protection of the local ruling gang, which thankfully me and my friend did have.

Serious corruption problem, terrible level of education in the favelas, poor health care, extreme poverty, dozens of millions of people with no hope for any better. Which is why crack is such a huge problem in Brazil, as is random violence. And rape, which unfortunately tends to go unreported.

Sweden still remains one of the richest, safest countries in the world. With remarkably low crime rates, almost no corruption, universal health care, high level of education, and very little poverty.

So, yeah.

Well, it is funny how this was reported throughout the world.

This was started because a policeman killed a man which was holding a huge knife and threatening a woman. The policeman is now being investigated for this, most probably he did take unnecessary means against the man and might be prosecuted.

The young men already held a grudge against a police, but shooting this man was what pushed it over the top.

What I heard was that the man attacked the police with huge knife so the police shot him with a gun that one police had in his hand. I dont think they would have shot the guy if he was just standing there with his huge knife. But if he attacked and there was little time to react, they had to put him down.

In open space it would be easy for the police to disarm one man. They could use stun guns or riot shields or dogs to take away the huge knife. Also its easier to see if the man has other weapons like guns if he is in open space.

But in closed space like apartment its harder to disarm people who attack you with huge knife. Also you dont know if they have other weapons like guns before you go inside the closed space apartment and see the man (who in this case instantly attacked).

Police who might have to deal with issues like this more or less continiously propably dont want to take any unnessery risks.

If this is the truth then I get the impression that swedes think that this kind of behavour is normal for immigrants so it can be ignored. Sounds a bit racist.

I hope you like european cars so this is atleast beneficial to european car industry.

the first 2/3 does it because it gives them the opportunity to wreak havoc or as for the so called "anti-fascist" left wing autonomous groups they try by using fascist and violent means to provoke a violent response from the authorities.

And for the last 1/3:
In most interviews, what comes across is just that it is "fun and really exciting!" combined with a lack of parental guidance.

Of course there are social inequalities in Sweden, though less of it in the majority of countries, but what is happening now is mostly idiots destroying for their neighbours.

Those were exact demographics (and reasons) of 2011 riots in the UK.
