Windows XP SVC PK 3

My auto-update has got Service Pack 3 for XP ready for me to install; for some reason I seem to remember hearing that there were some gaming incompatibilities with it--especially with older games. Is this just a misconception on my part? Is anyone using it?

I don't think so. In fact, I'm finding the new SP3 to be quite excellent, it installs a couple of new services (i think) that are easy to disable tho. And I'm playing Xcom2 terror from the deep on this same XP SP3 rig

The only problem was with ZoneAlarm, but they fixed it with an update I think.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the info. I tend to be paranoid about my old games--I spend more time playing them I think than the new ones.

i got recently hit w/ a sneaky virus thru my virtual fortification that had me scrambling for the latest windows updates, and I have to report that SP III has had no adverse effects on me. I'm in the middle of Baldur's Gate, and it seems to run fine, so far so good ='.'=
