So I just now found out that The Avengers screenplay was written by Joss Whedon, and that he's handling the directorial duties as well.

Maybe I'm late to the party, but this flick just leaped into my (mostly barren) 'can't wait' category.

I thought so too, but unfortunately it's just a bunch of superheroes too burned out to get stuff done alone. ;)
