Baldur's Gate EE - Pulled at Atari's Request

Hmm. It's on sale -75% on Steam right now. Wonder if they resolved this or what? Or is it just the IOS version where there is a problem?
Atari gets all the profits off steam. Trent wanted everyone to buy off his service so
Beamdog had nothing to do with that release. He never wanted a Steam release.

This is probably one of the reasons in the dispute and as sakichop said the Steam release isn't supported that good.

So maybe this Steam sale of BGEE is some kind of tactic by Atari? Wouldn't have bought it if I'd thought that was the case.

Does that mean the Steam version wasn't receiving any patches?

That is really messed up if true. Not that I blame Beamdog, if they aren't getting paid, then they shouldn't support it, but what a screw job to fans by Atari.

No, steam version still gets patch but later because they need to be approved by Atari.

According to their forum the steam version is the same as beamdog version at this point.

Another reason why to hate Atari : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ScummVM#Mistic.27s_GPL_violations

At first denying the charges, Atari later started negotiating when they learned the ScummVM team only desired adherence to the GPL, and not monetary compensation. However, upon learning that using open-source software is forbidden by Nintendo for use with the Wii software development kit, the developers challenged the legality of the reverse engineering methods used by the ScummVM team, claiming that they therefore had no rights over the resulting code.
