Original Sin Statue for RPGWatch

Thanks Myrthos, i think perhaps i paid for the fundraiser twice or something and it didnt come up in my paypal as the full amount. That is probably why i am confused. I judging by the table i have 1 digital game and the soundtrack. I think i should get Another digital copy of the game for my other friend. So that i got 4 total. Thank you for clearing that up for me.

@HiddenX- Companions always have the same XP as the characters. No need to level them. Henchmen aren't in the game yet, but I assume they'll level up the same.

What I could give Larian as information with respect to the rewards is given to them. There are a few loose ends, one of them is that sacred_path needs to provide a dialogue. The other is some technical stuff related to how I am to divide the rewards.

I will make an overview of what the selections are probably on Thursday. I will not have the time to do it at an earlier time.

I've sent everybody who was entitled to the digital game and who also wanted it a mail with their Steam key.

I've also sent all backers of our fundraiser the backer key via mail, which you can enter during profile creation to get the RPGWatch only stuff that was added. That said the dialogue is not in as sacred_path still has not responded to the mail I sent to him about that.

For that last mail I accidentally entered all mail addresses in the CC instead of BCC. I'm sorry about that :(

Ty Myrthos, don't worry about that cc part, I don't think any of us will now use "reply to all" and start a spam war. ;).

  • Write a Co-op Dialog (with backer key)
    Sacred_path

  • Name a Summon
Enhorning (could not decide, so HiddenX and I made the call)
    Kevin:
Kevin is a vigilant newshunter for The Watch, who reports day and night on interesting things he finds. Whenever he is summoned by you he joins your side and shows that he can be more powerful than a sword.
Treat him nice otherwise he turns into a big Couchpotato.
  • Name the Undead
    Tomasp3n
    Entry: Skeletor
  • Design a Henchman
Oelwyn (no feedback received, so Hiddenx made the following)

Layla wants to join the Elder Spy's friends: Commander Myrthos and his Watchers, but first she has to earn her spurs. Rivellon is waiting…

    QUOTE]The items
One item is obtained from a ball made of glass, the other from an old sacred tree.

    Needed:
    Two party members.
One very skilled in magic (higher levels) with the ability of casting lightening spells.
The other well trained in fighting with two-handed weapons (higher levels).

    Cost
After finding the first item, the party member that finds that first item will be very weak and vulnerable to (certain?) attacks until the second item is found by the second party member and until that second item has been combined with the first item.
(The reward at the end is not a tiny one, so a small sacrifice is in place I guess.)

Concerning the ball made of glass:
When stumbling on the ball made of glass, a message appears:
    The same, yet different.
    Capital and lowercase.
    You needing another.
    One needing the other.
    Two becoming one.

    Signed: Lux.“

    Failure to acquire the item:
    - when the ball is handled/touched by a party member that lacks the needed level
    - when the ball is touched by a party member that can’t cast lightening spells.

    Success in acquiring the item:
The signature Lux in the message is a hint that electricity is needed.
When the ball is struck by a lightening spell casted by a person that is very skilled in magic (high level), it will start to glow. A low male voice can be heard, whispering the word ‘Ohm’.
Then the light will become stronger, the bottom will open op, the blinding light will vanish through the bottom. Now one can see that the ball with the open bottom is changing into the shape of the Capital Omega, which is the symbol of Ohm:
    attachment.php
Only the party member that changed the ball with the lightening spell can pick it up; it feels warm - not hot - and it is made of an unknown material.

As soon as it is in the hand of that spellcaster, a voice urges:
    One, one, one”
Put the item anywhere else and there’s no voice to be heard.
(There is no voice to be heard when there are two items in one hand either BTW.)

    Concerning the old sacred tree:
When stumbling on the old sacred tree, a message appears:
    The same, yet different.
    Capital and lowercase.
    You needing another.
    One needing the other.
    Two becoming one
    .
    Signed: V + V“

    Failure to acquire the item:
    - when the tree is handled/touched by a party member that lacks the needed level
    - when the tree is touched by a party member that can’t handle two-handed weapons
    - when anything but a two-handed weapon is used

    Success in acquiring the item:
The signature V + V is a hint that four cuts are needed. (To make 1 V: 2 cuts are needed.)
Success: when cutting a V in the tree twice with a two-handed weapon, by a very skilled two-handed party member (high level).

After the successful cuts a wooden boomerang will fall to the ground.
At the same time the tree shrieks: 'Angular! Go, go, go!'
The two-handed warrior has to throw the boomerang away.
When it is flying through the air whispering voices can be heard: 'Velocity, velocity, angular velocity'.
When it comes back, it falls in front of the warrior’s feet. Now one can see that the boomerang has changed into the shape of the lowercase of omega: which is the symbol of angular velocity:
    attachment.php
Only that ‘woodcutter’ can pick it up. It feels warm and it is made of an unknown material.

As soon as it is in the hand of that ‘woodcutter’, a voice urges:
    One, one, one”
Anywhere else and there’s no voice to be heard.
(There is no voice to be heard when there are two items in the hand either.)

After the first item is found:
    A message appears:
    This is the first.
    Vulnerable and cursed.
It'll be part of the past,
When Dame Omega is the last
    .”
From now on this party member is very vulnerable to specific attacks, or whatever.
(NB. The only way to lift this curse is by finding the other item and combining the two items. So throwing the first found item away won’t change the curse.)

After the second item is found:
    A message appears:
    Take one by one
    Push head to bum,
Then two are in the past,
For Domina Omega is to last.
    ”
The two items (upper and lowercase Omega) have to be combined:
    - Each party member takes his/her found item in the hand
    - The items have to be pushed against each other
    Result:
a figurine (head, arms and 2 legs - not a head and 2 breasts) is formed:

    Final message:
    After combining the two items:
    She is yours to serve,
    finally, Omega is here:
    And she asks you:
which need do you wish to end?
    ”
Omega provides the two party members involved with the last (or all) needed points to acquire ONE particular skill.
The two party members may choose differently.
(Sure, the developers may consider the reward to be too big, maybe it'll be something else. But in that case I'd like to see it has something to do with omega. After all, omega means end, last, final…) [/QUOTE]
  • Design an Item
RPGWatch (the following from Arhu is what was selected)
Made by legendary blacksmith for the First Commander of the Watch, Rendelius, in the Age of Legends (or the First Age, or something like that — Opportunity to tie this item in with our other game-related things). Passed on from Commander to Commander during the centuries, it was often improved functionally and incrementally invested with magic. At some point lost and completely drained it falls on the player to find it for the current Commander and bring it back to its full glory (could tie in with some quests).

    Uses: Obviously light-related. Some ideas:
+ Detect monsters. Pulse when monsters are nearby (like those ping devices in Aliens), or simply glow in a different color.
+ Detect monster strength. Stronger monsters make the lamp glow stronger.
+ Illuminate hidden secrets (with some drawbacks to make it balanced)
+ Change color based on NPC disposition
+ Would be cool if it could be made an UI element.
+ If you rub it, something happens.
+- needs oil? or unlimited oil?
    - Doesn't work against Codex imps or anything related to the Codex for that matter.

Could be an item with different levels, e.g. at level 0 it's broken, at level 1 it's like a torch, at level 2 you get to detect monsters, and so on.
  • Design a NPC
    RPGWatch
    Dhruin
A time & space traveler stuck in Rivellion with no way to get back. The traveler is a regular 21st century guy from a planet called "Earth" that stumbled onto a time-space travel portal constructed by foul magicians of Rivellon. People from the divinity world think he's crazy because he's always talking about cars, planes, computers and televisions. They always tell him who needs all those mechanical gizmos when there's magic. Dhruin remembers some science from school, so the local give him some respect, but he is not a scientist and messes things up quite a bit.
The backer code will also give you access to the 'Engraving Tool'.

Well, I hope they clean it up a lot or it'll really jar with the rest of the game. Playing the Beta should have been a prerequisite for anyone who got to write in. Oh well. It sounds like someone who never played any divinity games ever wrote the material. Not that I would have done any better. Different? Yes. Better? I doubt it :)

You can play with 4, but only two can really interact with the world. The other two act as henchmen that you hired.

As to physical rewards. I am discussing logistics with Larian. The idea is that they send everything to me and I send the rewards to you. Once I've received everything I'll let you know.

I already deducted the shipping cost from the 10K we gathered, so I have the money for shipping as was agreed with Larian.

Shipping physical media to the USA is gonna be expensive. I get a physical copy of the game, but I don't need the Steam key. I've promised my key to NyxVampiria. If you get the keys before the boxes, or seperately from them, you can email/pm her mine. Otherwise, I'll get it to her when I get the physical copy.

I have reserved a sufficient amount of money that covers sending to all locations where things should be send.

As to the digital keys. I notice that you are not to receive the digital key. I however do not see that Nyx is listed as the recipient of your key. As far as I can see you swapped things with Damian.

Correct. I have an extra digital key, but I'll also get one with the physical copy. Otherwise, how could you play the game ;) I just wasn't sure if the keys were seperate from the physical copies, or if they were in the box. I'll give Nyx my steam key that comes with my physical copy, as I already have the game and have had for a long time.

Unless I misunderstand what comes with what....

@crpgnut,
Myrthos and I already consolidated the things the various Watchers sent in. We had close to no feedback from Larian and not much input/feedback from the Watchers, too. On top of that we had only 3 days to finish the texts in the end.

But I have already talked with a sea-shell (!) in D:OS; so our little RPGWatch input is much more standard fantasy and should be fitting in easily :)

Sounds like it's going to become a good game, once all the patches are in :)

I would probably want to play with a personality as my partner ...
Still in the middle of G2 NOTR so I'm good for a while.
