For anyone interested, the Humble Indie Bundle 3 is out.
http://www.humblebundle.com/

It includes:
1. Crayton Physics Deluxe
2. Cogs
3. VVVVVV
4. Hammerfight
5. And yet it moves

1, 2 and 5 looks very nice. Though 3 seems like a commodore 64 game :s

ps: Unfortunately, no RPG's in it. Would have been cool if it included Eschalon Book I&II, or perhaps the Witcher 2 (they are still indie aren't they) :D

VVVVVV is supposed to be very good, even though its graphics looks dated (but charming). I would say that it is that game and "And yet it moves" that are the most famous games of the entire bundle. And both are games that I have wanted to try out for a while now. Thanks for the link!

I'm sorry VVVVV looks too old school to me. I don't mind (technically) simple graphics, but the art should be 'colourful'. Besides that, it seems quite hard (and I'm too old for that :) ):

I find Aquaria from the first HiB still the best game, in fact it was the game that dragged me in the most the last 5 years. Just look at those graphics: http://www.bit-blot.com/aquaria/media.html

Been waiting to play "And yet it moves" and "Crayton" too. The HiB team are open to suggestions, perhaps we can suggest some RPG's to be included in the next bundle (I like the current puzzle games, but something different is always good).

You found a video of an optional part of VVVVVV. You only need to do that part if you are a completionist (it is very hard though, I died 173 times there (the game tells you where you died the most times when you finish it)). Apart from that, the game is tricky but not incredibly hard, and also very forgiving due to how its checkpoints work. Fare point about the graphics though. The music is incredibly catchy though, and I've been humming parts of it since I finished the game yesterday (it is quite short, only about 1½h)

Puzzle games seem to be all the rage at the moment in the indie scene. It is probably due to how easy they are to make compared to say a good CRPG or platformer. It would be nice to have a decent CRPG, but I suspect that we mainly will see indie games with a relatively short shelf life in these bundles.

This seems to be the least interesting bundle for me so far. Guess I'm getting tired of puzzle games at last.

The order in which I liked the games best (of the ones I played so far):
1. Cogs
Interesting take on an old concept, with good production values. It is fun to see your creation work :)

2. Crayton
Should be fun in theory, but haven't been able to get into it yet. Guess I played too many physics-based puzzle games for this to be fun.

3. And yet it moves
This one disappointed me, I have read nothing than good reviews. But when it comes to actually playing it, it comes off as a little bland and uninteresting to me.

Who knows, maybe I will like v5 the best :)

Crayon gets better further into it.
And I still can't get into "And yet it moves", even though it seemed like such a promising concept. It just has too many small faults, it would seem.

They added a new game to it today, namely Steel storm: Burning retribution. This is a top down shooter (one that I already own), and while it brings nothing new to the genre, I thought it was quite good.

We (Basilisk Games) have been talking with the Humble Bundle people for the past couple months about doing an RPG Bundle. Even though we hear "hell yeah that's a great idea!" from pretty much every gamer we mention this to, the Humble Bundle guys just don't think it's a good enough idea to pursue.

If anyone here would like to see this, contact them at contact@humblebundle.com and tell them. If we can get an Eschalon game in the bundle, we'll throw in the cool extras that are on the disc(s).

Yes I have been thinking to give some suggestions to them, but I've been lazy thus far. I I will send my mail asap with recommendations for a RPG bundle. Anyone knows some other good indie RPG's (other than Basilisk's games) I can suggest ?

As an aside, HiB3 now also includes Atom Zombie Masher. While I don't mind all the bonus games at all. I think it is slightly unfair to always include the previous bundles, as I paid 'full price' for it. But, then again other people might have had the bonus games already too, oh well. Guess I shouldnt whine :)
