The Retro Duo Gaming System

Just a heads up - there's a cool new product on the market. Basically, it's a cheap chinese NES/SNES dual-system. And it's actually legal. Somehow the Nintendo patents on the 8-bit nintendo and the super nintendo systems (NES & SNES, if you will) are too old now, so anyone can make copies.

I bought one from amazon.com marketplace. It works here in europe too with a simple wall socket adapter (the power unit accepts both 110v and 230v.. or whatever, so you don't need any voltage converters). Also, my TV accepts NTSC signals and the system plays BOTH Pal and NTSC games… some famicom (JAP) games too it would appear. So far it has been a great little unit. You can use standard SNES controllers with it, it comes with two actually that are quite ok once you get used to the button feel. The thing only costs like 40$ and you can get games from ebay and fleamarkets for NES/SNES quite cheap. The system itself comes in a variety of colors.

Pretty neat. It's not new though, they've had several variations available for some time now. I almost purchased something similar last year on Ebay.
