According to the video however, hitting someone in full mail using Lars' techniques wouldn't even tickle.
The bows he uses would be good enough to shoot at targets or unarmoured foes however.

So, when we see him penetrating armor in that first video, that's deception?

I guess I really need to watch that second video, then. I was hoping for a quick explanation :)

Don't really know, but my understanding of chainmail is that there are multiple types, with some of them being very good at protecting against spears, let alone arrows.

Yeah, the website seems to suggest that mail can be quite effective against arrows, especially if combined with some padding/felt.

It also suggests most contemporary mail armors are flawed/cheap replicas, which doesn't come close to the type of armour used during those times.
