The Witcher 2 - First Impressions @ Plugheadnet, Gametrailers

There were (optional) semi-naked girls and it didn't stop TW1 from being a very good game. So, apparently, Team Red can read a newspaper and chew gum at the same time.

And now for the important stuff: there’s a naked woman in the first two minutes of the game. Absolutely full-on nudity that in games you would only usually see in crap German “erotic” titles. Earning your Mature rating there, CD Projekt!

Not enough detail yet from these early impressions. Boobs and swearing acknowledged in the first paragraphs? Feh.
I guess some previewers have a screwy sense of priorities.

I don't know about the previewer's priorities, but I do know that I never quite have understood why a picture, an image, of a naked woman, would give a mature rating? In that case, several of the world's most famous paintings would be considered for a 'mature' audience only. And there not, last time I checked.

I think the previewer was trying to commend cd project's attitude towards romance, and romance scenes in games, not just yell 'boobies'. As for the romance scenes, I like the screenshots of Triss? and Geralt a lot. Reminds of paitings of Renoir, Degas, Toulouse-Latrec and yes, Van Gogh.

I'm a little surprise the ESRB didn't give the game an AO rating though. From the sounds of things, the game will have full-frontal nudity on females. It's mildly encouraging to see the game NOT get such a rating. I'm sure if Geralt was shown excited, this would get either an automatic AO or just banned completely.

However, modders have long taken up the mantle of turning games into porn. Bethesda games all get the pornographer treatment and those mods get thousands upon thousands of downloads. I'll freely admit to installing nudity mods, but I don't really have an interest in animated sex in a game. So far, the quality just isn't anywhere near enough to reality for it to be interesting.

Women are getting stiffed though, or perhaps not getting stiffed would be more accurate. While naked and fondled women are getting fairly common in game, nude males are pretty rare. The question is though, do women care? They're wired a little differently, so I'm not sure that the interest level is even there for it. Most nude male sex mods seemed to come from the homosexual community, and not from girl gamers.

Good point pnut, I wonder if the scenes are being changed as we speak…. Or if the hype is, God forbid, inaccurate?
