Science fiction games

I hope this is considered on-topic - has there been released some good grid-based first-person RPGs with a sci-fi theme?

I know that some fantasy games, like Wizardry 7, have sci-fi elements, but I'm looking for something where sci-fi is the dominant theme.

Grid based first person (like in Grimrock) is a pretty rare thing to see, I'm afraid.

Thanks. Yeah, it's a rare sub-genre it seems.

Maybe I'll track down the Whale's Voyage series at some point; they seem like quite interesting games.

I'm waiting for the sequel ;) But thanks.

(I don't think it's grid-based, though).

EDIT: "I don't think it's grid-based" - I meant both games.

It's not out just yet (it's supposed to go in Steam Early Access Q1 2015) but Starcrawlers is a first person, sci-fi dungeon crawler.

Also SpaceShock has first person exploration.. but it switches to an isometric perspective during combat. The game has kinda been in development purgatory after their Kickstarter was unsuccessful but very recent developer comments on their Steam Greenlight page say that they plan to release a playable prototype in early 2015…

Cool, I didn't know that SpaceShock is still alive.
