What games are you playing now?

Wasteland 2 early game - love it!

Dunno why, but I adore it being so goddamned ugly, finally something different from all those hollywoodized heroes, plastic boobed sidekicks and cuties everywhere. :D

I'm still not sure about some things, I mean, something feels missing, dunno what.
Have to play some more to define it.

Don't worry all the drugs, Hollywood heroes, plastic boobed sidekicks, and various cuties don't make an appearance till the games second half.

Oh I forgot cannibalism, and sex slaves also. Gotta have priorities you know what I'm talking about right? Still my Game of the Year though.

PS: My post is for humor and Irony mixed with some truth.

(If anyone takes this to seriously you don't belong on the internet.

Valkyria Chronicles is a sad game :(

All the WW2 parallels…
I agree as instead of Germany it's an alternate Imperial Russia that starts WW2. I just hope they release the next two game in the series. I never played the third one yet.

My Assassin's Creed marathon continues after finishing Brotherhood. Now playing the next part in the series, Revelations.

Brotherhood was not as good as part 2 in my opinion. It's strange how they made some of the PC controls worse again after much improving between them between part 1 and 2.
It was also funny to notice how they made the character models look a lot worse again, presumably in exchange to make the environment graphics more detailed.

The story also didn't grab me as much as the one in part 2 (there wasn't enough Leo Da Vinci in Brahhood) and actually became even weirder towards the end as in the previous parts. The endings are almost giving me Might&Magic flashbacks where you play a rather normal game for 90% of the time and then towards the end it all turns into weirdo land (I'm talking about the alien spaceships in older MMs).

I also felt that many missions were plain tedious. Lots of running all across the map and then lengthy dreaded 'tail that guy' or the even more dreaded escort missions. And on some missions there was way too much trial & error involved. I hate that. The game, by design, should always give you the opportunity to figure out a viable course of action rather than trying and failing until you find a way (sometimes the *only* way) that works.
As a positive, some of the missions proved to be more challenging than in the previous installments in the series and the new bonus objectives (remain undetected… do it w/o killing anyone… etc) gave you an incentive to try your best at any mission.

It was still a fairly good game overall and big kudos to the world building team once more. They once again did an outstanding job capturing that 15th/16th century Italian renaissance atmo.

Now looking forward to finding out what Revelations is all about, though it started about as weird as Brahhood ended with that inside the Animus stuff (huh?) … oh well, let's hope for the best :)

5 games at the same time? I could never do that. 2 max assuming the second one is cards or tetris. ;)

Anyway finally started Wasteland 2.
Not understanding sh*t what's going on there except that I shouldn't go over radiation parts of the worldmap. Had a laugh or two. :D

I mean… The dog on the first mainstory map, regardless of me succeeding in animal whisper, didn't follow me.

I only manage because some of these games are multi player only and I do them with friends online a couple of times per week. If they were al story heavy games (like real RPG's) I wouldn't manage ;)

With the Steam winter sale, I got The Binding of Isaac - Rebirth, and am finding it surprisingly addictive. I'm pretty bad at the controls, but getting better. But even though I keep getting killed, I tend to take short breaks from whatever else I'm doing, and seem to pop in for a game.

Ordinarily, I'm not a fan of twin-stick shooters, but this one is alright. The randomness of the levels, the theme and art-style seem to make a great pair.

I'm getting sick & tired of Thief 4. Dang thing is a bloody mess. Two times I've had to restart the part between the first & second (real) level, where you are supposed to move across the streets to your location, because I got stuck in things. And no, I've not tried to get outside the map, once I just tried to lean past a corner and the game would simply not let me do anything after that, and the other time I found a place in the map geometry that I got stuck in.

Great. I picked up Thief during the current Steam holiday sale. Sounds very encouraging :) .

If you enjoyed the original Thief, then I would recommend lowering your expectations for this one, a lot. The first level, while not the worst thing I've ever played, was not very fun, and that was after turning off all the GUI markers that I did not want (like an objective marker pointing me in the right direction, bonus points for having the possibility of turning these off though). The game just holds your hand like if you were a small child (yes, I'm playing on "hard"), and while the levels themselves might be relatively large, they feel segmented, you have small self-contained units. This game is about as big of a disappointment as Spore, at least to me (and I had already lowered my expectations after hearing about some of the games issues).

Ah no problem if it's no masterpiece. I paid €8.24 for the Master Thief Edition in the sale so it's no biggie if it fails to deliver.
As far as the old Thiefs (Thieves?) are concerned, I really liked part 1 since it was the first game of its kind and the execution on a gameplay, design and technical level was top notch back in the day.
However, I never really cared for all the supernatural stuff with the zombies (yawn) and the strange metal age setting. If it would have been my call, I would have been perfectly fine with a game that just focuses on a sort of medieval, or in between then and, say, up to maybe 17th century Robin Hood kind of style.
So I'm definitely not going into this thinking of it as the continuation of the best game series ever. It was a decent, mostly fun series. Nothing more, nothing less.

My expectations are in the direction of a more stealth-focused Assassin's Creed.
Speaking of which... I'm near the end (I think) of Revelations which was a pretty fun ride but again not as good as AC2. It suffers from many of the same problems as Brotherhood (mostly the consolish controls, boring escort/tailing missions etc.). I'll probably wrap up Revelations tonight and then continue with AC3.

Are those games really that short or are you just skipping a lot of content?

What lot content? All-the-same missions? :p

About Thief 4, it's a bit above average game, unoptimized on PC (total disaster with FPS drops on machine that runs everything without a glitch), it's major drawback are endless respawns and the town is sadly designed as a multipart labyrinth.
Still, among different overpriced and overhyped junk out there, Thief 4 is worth buying (master thief edition) with -50% off which is now on 16.5€ on Steam.

And I got myself a "huge" bug in Wasteland 2.
Angela disappeared. Used search, found out that she would leave my party anyway eventually, so maybe it's for the better. As sidekicks don't earn XP in this game unless in the party. And besides, the "zombie" girl I just got… I kinda wanted to keep her anyway, but planned to ditch the tribal youngster as soon as my starting partymember toaster skill gets up…

Other than that and known enginerelated annoyances, seen no bug. And so far the game is great. Why noone told me to put Xulima aside and play this first?!

I'm playing the Grim Dawn early access game. It's basically Titan Quest in a new world with a few modern features added. Pretty fun for a explore-loot game. Playing an Arcanist who becomes a sorcerer, (I think), at level 10. It has the loot storage that you share between builds, so if you have a shield that your mage doesn't use, it's good for your soldier in a different game.

Both ;) . According to Steam AC1 was 18 hours, AC2 24 hours, AC Brotherhood and Revelations… no idea, Steam did not track it correctly and uPlay doesn't track play time at all, well, I'd assume they took around 20 hours as well.
I definitely skipped quite a bit of content like got only very few of the collectibles, rarely did all of the view points, did not restore all the buildings in the cities (I always had enough money so no need) etc.

I just did a few random bits of everything on the side when something caught my eye on the way to the next story waypoint. Mostly the view points and I also destroyed all of the enemy (Borgia) towers in Rome. That kind of stuff.

You could definitely spend twice the time or more with these games if you were an achievement collector and wanted to finish all of the side content the games have to offer. But what for really?

If I didn't have a crazy backlog and would be bored between titles, then I might have tried harder to "complete" the games but as it stands I'm just trying to get through the series rather quickly for the story content.

I'd like to play AC IV, Rogue, and AC III (In that order) when I can find the time. The settings in the other AC games just don't appeal to me, and I couldn't care less about the Animus backstory.

Speaking of Ubisoft, I might also give Far Cry 4 a try in the near future.

I'm almost through with Wolfenstein (2009) right now and then I'm going to restart Wolfenstein: TNO. The former is a lot better than I remembered, and I think it's an underrated game in general. I installed a mod called Retrostein that removes some elements of the HUD and makes it feel more like a proper PC shooter. Great atmosphere throughout…

Also messing around with the Metroid Prime Trilogy. It's a Wii title, but I've been playing it using the Dolphin emulator. It's a lot more fun with K+M controls and double the original resolution + anti-aliasing, etc. :)

That one is a must buy.
When they release every single cut out DLC packed into saeason pass scam and Steam drops the price of the whole package on 10 bucks. Not before!

I'm more and more in love with Wasteland 2. The Canyon/Temple part is top notch design! Choices, choices everywhere! Sided with NCR against Hubologists of course… Eh… I know, I know. Not that game, well it feels like it is!
Now I'm off to get me some nuke. Can I use it to nuke Vault City power plant ghouls' base on north?

I must say I've spotted a few more glitches here and there, nothing gamebreaking or important really.
Not happy with some design choices. For example why Vax has only 50 HP? I can't control him during fights so he pushes in front when it's not wise, have a hard time to cover him. And why I have to overclock him prior to every single fight?

I would hold off on buying Far Cry 4 since there is talk about alternate ending DLC. I have a policy of not buying any Ubisoft game till after a year or more of it's release.

As Joxer said wait for the eventual complete edition to be sold.:)

I got Far Cry 4 free when I purchased a new SSD drive recently, so I'll probably just buy the season pass for DLC if there's some decent single-player content.

Oddly enough, quite a few of the games I want to play in the near future are Ubisoft titles. Besides the AC games I mentioned previously, I also have Watch Dogs and Might & Magic X pretty high on my list.
