My Avira AntiVir Professional blocks access to gog.com (only the homepage), classifying it as malware. Does anyone have similar experiences? Is it safe to override the block?

It could be because google analytics is loaded in the javascript on the site (I use Firefox with No script to block that kind of stuff). Should be safe anyway as far as I can tell.

There were a couple of occasions when the ads included spyware but the banner ads got disabled right? I don't use Noscript but another Firefox plugin called RequestPolicy where I can enable external links on a case-by-case basis per website (it blocks all external links by-default, including images).

I used to have a similar problem with gog being blocked. Now I can get through.

These blockers are real bad at tracking transitory bad website behavior, and slow to de-blacklist sites that are now safe. More trouble than they are worth, unless one is so stupid to click on every pop-up or activeX installation request.
