Can someone tell me what a youtu.be site is? I've seen these a few times now and have been quite hesitant to click them. Is it another tinyurl type site?

Website with .ly or other small suffixes are used as redirection websites usually. The idea is to be more attractive to people and have smart addresses, like direct.ly or bit.ly. They usually just redirect you to another site, the main domain.

So these websites could be anything. If you trust the source then go on them if you know the source, but are not too sure, then ask. If you don't know the source I recommend browsing with more caution.

So basically, like with every other website, take cautions
