I just realised that I've misunderstood what they're trying to do.

I thought they were going to release a "first chapter" of NEW content, not the actual game. I thought they were going to ask the player upon having finished the game, whether he/she wanted to try the next chapter for free.

In that case, all my points are nullified and I would need time to contemplate what I think about this

Ah, no problem. No doubt they are spinning in as innovative when it isn't but you wouldn't expect anything else of Molyneux.
