Okay... if you're reading this message then it's quite obvious that you visit the RPGWatch website.

As many of you know, this is the only place on the net where I post regularly... simply because it's the only place I've found where I feel comfortable. I feel as if the general population here acts like a friendly community of RPG lovers, and even when we don't agree on something, we can usually still discuss it rationally and with respect to others.

So... I was wondering... what other sites do you visit where you are just as active as you are here? I'm specifically interested in hearing about RPG sites, but I'd also like to hear about any other type of site you visit.

I may begin posting on other sites if I could find some that give me the "warm fuzzy" that this site does ;)

As active as here ?

Well ...

- a German Star Wars collecting forum
- still the Larian forum, after all of these years
- a spin-off of that forum *
- a spin-off forum of Unity.Enya *
- a forum about high sensitivity / highly sensitive persons (HSPs)

I think that's it for now.

There are a few I look into every now & then ...

* Not too active, but still quite.

None, I only come here and if I go to any others it is to check for specific updates for a specific game and then back here to the Watch.

I actually used to post on a lot of forums but I've cut way, way, way back. The only places I post regularly are here, the message boards for the television channel Space (the Canadian "version" of the US' Sci Fi) and Basilisk Games forum.

I think I started my forum posting habits back in the Black Isle message board days and it kind of went from there, and I've run the gamut from forum poster to moderator on a few forums (both notable and not!).

Some game sites I'll post occasionally on if I have questions, but it's not anywhere near a regular thing.

I've been pretty quiet outside of the Watch recently, but I used to spend quality time at a Red Wings board, the Eschalon board, and a shoegazer board.

That is exactly what I do as well... though I will sometimes ask questions on specific game sites... but that is rare.

Does anyone remember the old BGChronicles website (Baldur's Gate Chronicles). I remember before BG was released I was pretty active on that site. Being a huge D&D geek I was eagerly awaiting the release of BG, since it was going to be so faithful to the D&D rules of the time (as far as it could be).

If anyone remembers, I was the nutcase who held a little contest on the message boards. I put up 10 D&D trivia questions and the first person who was able to answer them got the prize.

I gave away (yes I'm crazy) an original copy of the very first edition of the D&D ruleset... we're talking the small white booklet... very rare... very collectible. It was but a small piece of this insane man's RPG collection, so I didn't feel bad about doing it. That's how excited I was about the release of that game.

I post on the Witcher international forums occasionally. Very nice people there. Also the forums of any game I happen to be playing where I need help. ;) I lurk a bit at Obsidian and the Codex, but not as much as I used to.

I've often thought about posting on the somethingawful.com gaming forums, but they charge a sign up fee (admittedly only $9.95--but what if I hated it there?) so I never have.

AFA rpg boards, The Ironworks forums were great back in the day but I haven't been there for years now--they had a lot of Wizardry players IIRC and everybody was very helpful. Sorceror's Place always looks inviting, and I'm registered there but have never posted. Gamesanity (GamerDad's blog place) is a nice site too.

So basically I guess I'm saying I mainly run my mouth off here. :)

I post regularly on the Laz and U6P sites and occasionally on others such as Larian, Minions, Basilisk, (Game Specific) sites, but I spend so much time here, I rarely have time to post anywhere else!! :)

I did some heavy duty posting under this and other names back in the days, but nowadays...
The only forums I still post at are the Watch and - sometimes - the Red Orchestra forums, if once or twice a year does count. I even made a single post over at the Codex about 1 1/2 years ago. Oh right, and my evil twin posts at RPGDot every two or three months if someone needs help with a certain game.
There are two forums I visit often without being registered (never posted there): The Aeclectic Tarot forums (tarot collectors) and the Soda & Natron forums (clothing, especially sewing).

AdventureGamers.com
A website for people who enjoy adventuregames. I enjoy storydriven games.

Richarddawkins.net
One of the largest worldwide forums for people critical against religions. It should be no news to people that I am concerned with the issues of political and religious extremism.

The rest are Swedish only.

Attention-riks.org
Swedish forum for people with ADHD, Autism, Asperger Syndrome etc.

Flashback.info
Humongous swedish forum (150k users!) with no censorship. It's a place where everything goes, no matter how extreme. The users go from criminals to political extremists to lawyers, professors and politicians. Forum topics include 12 different forums about computers, 11 forums about drugs, 11 forums about culture (movies, photography, Graffiti etc), 14 forums about lifestyle (Cars, Hunting, Gambling, Urban Exploration etc), 5 forums about media, 16 forums about society (Anarchy, Feminism, Criminal Organisations, Narcotics, Politics, Nazism, Liberalism, Socialism etc), 5 forums on sex (Alternative sexuality, pornography, prostitution etc), 10 forums about science (Philosophy, History, Parapsychology, Religion etc).

I like it because it's far more relaxed than other forums and even if it draws alot of extremists they outweight eachother and there's plenty of normal and bright people making the discussions very interesting.

Humanisterna.se
The swedish humanist organisation, fighting against religious extremism and for human rights and secular values.

Exkristen.se
Swedish ex-christian community. For us who left the religion and still need someone to talk to.

Feminetik.se
Swedish feminist forum. Yes, I consider myself a liberal feminist.

Filosofiforum.com
Swedish forum for people interested in philosophy.

vof.se
Swedish forum "Science and Public Education", about upkeeping the intellectual tradition.

Many game devs write here. I can only read though (the forums have limited access). Its an old style mmog-rant site allthough other games are discussed too. Great for critics and news on the industry. I also use it to get info about ps2 games.
