SSD - Another Noob Question

But most shops it is 96 yes. Crucial is well known and popular around here. The evo series is theoretical faster but that's all. I belief they discovered a small problem with the evo series recently.

And the fix did not work (at least not for everyone to the same degree):
http://techreport.com/review/27727/some-840-evos-still-vulnerable-to-read-speed-slowdowns

I have a total of three Samsung 840 EVOs across two computers and a laptop. The old data issue has not returned in full force for me but I am getting some non-dramatic drops in performance (see attached screenshot). Some people are reportedly getting the old issue in full force where read performance dumps down to below HDD levels (< 50MB/s).
AFAIK, the verdict is still out on what Samsung plans to do next. An intermediate band aid for those affected by very slow drives is to run http://www.puransoftware.com/DiskFresh.html which will rewrite all data on the SSD (of course affecting the write cycles and decreasing the life expectancy of the NAND but restoring performance to full speed).
