You're saying Oblivion had more things added than cut? Not sure I'd agree with that...

In a numeric sense? Maybe not. But Oblivion actually had some sort of functional combat system and useable stealth, whereas Morrowind had neither. Different people will value different things but these are non-trivial additions - for me, well worth losing a couple of weapons skills.

Of course, people value other items such as the art style but we aren't talking about those sorts of things.

What they added may not be what everyone wanted (I didn't like several things added in Oblivion) but they did add more then what they cut.
