I have been enjoying the new release 'Soft Machine Live Switzerland 1974', which is from the Montreal Jazz Festival.

It features a young Alan Holdsworth tearing it up even before his style had fully developed. I know some prefer the earlier Robert Wyatt stuff, but this stuff is my jam ...

That's really good stuff. Sounds like soundtrack music for some of the great 80's movies. I'll have to do some more listening there.
