It seems you can buy the Director's Cut version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution for 75% off once again on Steam, or if you just want the pirce it's $4.99. Not a bad deal at all.

You play Adam Jensen, an ex-SWAT specialist who's been handpicked to oversee the defensive needs of one of America's most experimental biotechnology firms. Your job is to safeguard company secrets, but when a black ops team breaks in and kills the very scientists you were hired to protect, everything you thought you knew about your job changes.
More information.

I keep hearing negative comments about the Director's Cut. Is it full of bugs? Why do players prefer playing the standard version?

Haven't played the standard version so I can't compare the two but I can't recall any significant bugs in Director's Cut.

What bugs?
To my knowledge both versions are completely polished.

But I bet you mixed things.
Players prefer DX:HR, any version, over DX:The Fall.
DX:The Fall is not director's cut but is a completely different game and is so bad compared to DX:HR it can't be explained by just words.

I seem to vaguely recall some complains about the boss fights in the DX:HR and that those issues were addressed in the Director's Cut but that's about it…

That was not a bug. Bosses were designed poorly. But still better than endless mobrespawns.

Before the DC was patched, it had a few unfortunate bugs - including some texture corruption and what not.

But post-patch, it's most definitely the version to get - no question.

I bought this on the Wii U and I think it's great. Definitely worth getting. I heard that a lot of the PC bugs have been worked out, so it should play well.
