The sky is blue.

I just love when we point out the obvious.

Let's just say they definitely cater to a different audience over there. It might be a case of low expectations breeding low results, since the Codexers that post here generally are intelligent, informed, and respectful.

They used to be quite funny in an outrageous and unpredictable way. Then they got stupid. Haven't even lurked there for years now, though, so I have no idea what it's like atm.

As dte says, the Codexers that post here generally have something relevant to say and are pretty interesting to listen to.

I stopped going there once I realized that members could post pretty much anything they want.

It's a bit ridiculous when people are linking to porn sites, and trying to trick you into clicking on them.

I dunno. The review features are quite good and comprehensive (nothing on the 'WATCH, of course. :). I'm sure the folks who write those don't participate in the free-for-all in the forums.

Well… I have certain ideas about the site myself - but then, I don't go there very often and I see some value in their disposition, even if I consider it extreme and one-sided.

Still, it's nice to have a few extremes "the other way" instead of the endless commercial/marketing-route support sites everywhere - like QT3, for instance.

Yup, the first time I clicked on a porn link for big hot nekkid trucker mamas or whatever it was which the poster disguised as a legit gaming link was the last time I was there. :)

It was the porn spam that caused me to never start an account there. I lurked awhile.

I simply don't trust a site with such lax control over the users' posts. Children do play these games, you know. Heck, I did when I was a kid, and if I ever had one of my own, they'd start out on The Bard's Tale just the same as me. I wouldn't want my kid running across that at 12 years old.

I've seen everything there is to see on the net, so such things don't worry me. Besides, I'm incredibly good at not clicking wrong links.

I wonder what the current folks there might think when they look back ... in let's say 10 years or so ... The Internet never forgets ...

Or they do. "Det's wreak some havoc and then disappear again !"

I used to be a regular there, but it just got too vulgar for me. They used to be a repository for obscure shareware authors.

How can you know, if you never do?

If I never click on the wrong links, that would be a pretty good indicator that I'm good at avoiding them? ;)

In any case, I wasn't always this good. But I had access to the 'net before the vast majority of the general population and have been practising dilligently :)

My visit there was very brief.

I'll take racists and haters anyday, especially when most of it's just a make-believe circle jerk to keep PC, as demonstrated by OP, at bay as can be observed by those of high intelligence (eg. me. I don't follow their daily antics, yet I know they aren't really such haters and racists as you slander about), over blandly ordinary insecure social rejects seeking confirmation from their peers in a thread like this, which is pathetic, even <R-word> (trademarked by Sarah Palin. PC FTW).
