Gamebanshee informs us that Warhammer 40K Deathwatch has been released on PC as an enhanced Edition.

Following its debut on Apple's iOS platform earlier this year (where it carried a "Tyranid Invasion" subtitle), Games Workshop and Rodeo Games have released the squad- and turn-based strategy/RPG as an Enhanced Edition on PC. The game is available on Steam for $24.99, and there's both a gameplay trailer and an original teaser trailer for the iOS version to check out before you make a purchasing decision:

Thanks Eye.

Not very impressed. The game shows its mobile origins and it feels like a poor man's Space Hulk (despite using the bloody Unreal Engine)

Long loading times on the older PC, despite graphics looking crisp and beautiful. Very repetitive, too. Best played in short sessions to avoid becoming bored to death.

My recommendation? Go for Space Hulk: Ascension. It's the better game.

$25 seems a little steep for a PC port of an iOS game, and the user reviews on Steam don't indicate that it's worth it.

Short, repetitive, despite the fact that the Deathwatch has a tremendous potential for both RPG and tactical turn base or even a good combination of the two.

The Warhammer 40k universe has an immense lore, vastly underused. And yet, most games are not using it. Think that with the exception of the old SSI titles, the Dawn of War series/Space Marine, Space Hulk series and the War40K: Armageddon, we don't have any other games to make use of that lore or add new lore. Most of the recent games are direct ports of the boardames and not the best ones. I feel bad seeing all that lore ignored, squandered in crappy games...:(

Or overused. When looking at the collection of released games, it seems that the use of the w40k universe was the main selling point.
Too many mediocre games.

The setting is overused, indeed. The lore is not. Which is why we have so many mediocre or bad games.
