… the day Wikipedia writes about "InChI=1S/2C5H5.Rh/c2*1-2-4-5-3-1;/h2*1-5H;/q2*-1;+2 Key: IWAKCRNSZSPDTB-UHFFFAOYSA-N InChI=1/2C5H5.Rh/c2*1-2-4-5-3-1;/h2*1-5H;/q2*-1;+2 Key: IWAKCRNSZSPDTB-UHFFFAOYAC", the day pibbur doesn't know where his sitting-at-the-computer-glasses are, and another day in Edinburgh

0037: Roman emperor Caligula (who remained an emperor of Rome for 4 years (wow!) before being assassinated) accepted the title of Principate.
0193: Roman emperor Pertinax was assassinated after 3 months in office during the year of 5 emperors.

According to Wikipedia nothing happened on this day for the next 931 years. The dark ages, I presume.

1776: Juan Bautista de Anza finds the Presidio of San Francisco. Whioch reminds me: Has somebody seen my glasses?

JemyM, You're the philosopher here - care to explain? (You don't have to, but if you do, I promise I'll say something nice about Sweden in the near future)
1802: Heinrich Wilhelm Matthäus Olbers discovers the second astertoid known to man: 2 Pallas, a planet wannabe. But ultimately boring as it doesn't seem to collide with earth in the near future.
1871: Paris is established in Paris
1979: Three Mile Island event

Notable pwnings:
1794: Prince of Coburg pwns France
1809: France pwns Spain
1854: France and the UK wants to pwn Russia

Notable last time appearances:

1917: US buys islands from Denmark for 25 000 000USD, thrice the nominal amount paid for Alaska. Worth it?
1970: The return of Explorer 1.0

Notable first time appearances:
1596: The thoughts and therefore the being of Rene Descartes
1718: Infanta Mariana Victoria of Spain. Of course she was an infant. Humans usually are when they're born. Just ask Temptress, she knows these things.
1847: The man who knew how to represent \int \frac{x+A}{\sqrt{x^4+ax^3+bx^2+cx+d}}\, dx by logarithms

… the day pibbur is home, and somewhat confused.

1955: American Civil Liberties Union for Ginsberg!
1860: Lucky Luke completes first successful United State Pony Express expedition.

They came:
1885: The Daimler Engine
1922: General Secretary Stalin
1973: The first gadget from hell
2000: United States v. Microsoft: Microsoft is ruled to have violated United States antitrust laws by keeping "an oppressive thumb" on its competitors. A thumb, huh?
2007: A French TGV train on the LGV Est high speed line sets an official new world speed record: 574.8 kmph. Yay from pibbur who travelled by TGV on this very line, but at a somewhat more relaxed 320 kmph during his european expedition.

And they went
1559: War in Italy
1975: World Chess Champion Bobby Fisher. Common man Bobby Fischer continues.

495 000 000 for yesterday at google

On site, not online
I mean more time where you are visiting, not more time with your laptop.

I've not changed my mind, I've just changed my opinion…. Hmmm, that sounds actually wiser and deeper than I thought. It sounded much more stupid when I first heard it, in Norwegian. And now, someone's going to point out that everything sounds stupid in Norwegian (google has 815 results for "stupid in Norwegian", which no doubt be increased by one minutes after I've finished this).

//inserte internet insult?

GG: A wise man indeed. But I have to admit it, when I go by train, I like to go by really fast trains. YAAAAAaaaaay (simulated doppler yay).
