Puzzle Quest 2 - Review @ IGN

IGN has posted a very positive review of Puzzle Quest 2 9.0/10, thus thinking Infinitive Interactive's puzzle/rpg is this:

This is the Puzzle Quest you fell in love with, and the new dungeon exploration and usable items only sweeten the deal. If only all of life's problems could be solved by matching colored objects together.

So, did they really remove mounts, companions, runes, spell researching and who knows what else in favor of single addition? Or did the review just forget to mention existing features of the new game?
