The First Templar - Character Video
April 15th, 2011, 06:20
I'm stll unclear if The First Templar is an RPG but Rock, Paper, Shotgun has a character introduction video for Roland, mostly showing some combat sequences. Steam has this listed for May, so it's quite close it seems.
More information.

The video's at gametrailers will help explain this game somewhat better. Action/adventure, seems decent. Kinda interested.

Interesting, because at last years' Games Com it was advertised rather as an (Action-)RPG …
But in the other hand that was a still very early version of the game, maybe they partly changed directions after that ?

The last game I remember to assume the beat'em up label was Rockstar's The Warriors.
Video footage was extremely similar but showed more aggressive mobs: introduction of characters and exhibition of the 'cool' finishing moves.
Same here, save the mob are idle, with openings to strike from behind lasting two or three seconds.
There must be something negative associated with beat'em ups for people trying to deny the beat'em up label.
