I'm knee deep into Knights of the Chalice at the moment. My party is about level 12 all round; I went with the slightly conservative configuration of a Knight, two clerics (one healer/another a battle cleric) and a Wizard. The encounter design is quite good and any combat featuring dragons has proved a challenge. Overall, the game is jolly fun and reminds me alot of Dark Sun meets the Goldbox games with its heavy emphasis on turn based combat.

Diddledy low,
Come brave blood sheep,
You've a goodly way to go.

Been playing Dungeon Lords CE, its buggy as heck. Saves suddenly go corrupt, but it is fun. They actually did a few things right that make it different. Keep as many backup saves as possible. Combat is fast paced and requires some thought. I'm enjoying it.

About done with ME3 play through. Decided to fire up MP to increase readiness. Turns out it's fun on its own; challenging and different from other MP shooters as an adept. I imagine the adrenaline rush will disappear along with the appeal.

Playing Age of Empires 3.
At first was kinda bored. Build stuff, train basic guys, start klling the enemy. Then, I started tiering up, and something about cannons just really gets me going. I love them. Nothing like playin as the British, blasting away at the enemy lines w/ "falconet" cannons, watching the enemy go flying in all directions. Then you break out the mortars and start shelling their base, taking them apart. The way everything breaks up as you assault it is cool too, great effects.

I havent even used the "heavy cannon" yet, i cant wait to see that sucker, it's good against bldg & infantry both!

Was invited back to SWTOR by a few friends - and I'm enjoying it again. Very surprising. This has to be one of few games where my opinion has changed dramatically more than once.

At first, I thought it was middling to OK. Then I started really despising it. Then I gave it another shot and really liked it. Then I was kinda meh about it. Now, I'm back to really liking it.

Naturally, playing with friends means a great deal for my enjoyment - but it really is one of the best current themeparks out there. WoW is still far ahead, but it's so old now - and I've played it too much to really get a kick out of it.

SWTOR has a LOT of content I've yet to experience, and I do love me some Star Wars atmosphere.

Now that it's F2P - and they've lifted some of the more annoying restrictions, I recommend giving it a shot - if you're into Star Wars and want the closest thing to KotOR 3. No, it's not like a real KotOR 3 - but it's not entirely unlike it either.

I didn't think much of it a year ago, but now that they have the F2P option and improvements as you mention I have been thinking about trying again … thanks for the push.

Playing Miasmata survival adventure game with bit horror.
You are exiled on island and not much is known except you have plague and you need to find cure.Game has no hud or GPS,you will ocasionly find map that will give you locations of few camps and other man made stuctures that will help you determine location of yourself and other structures via triangulation(not done manually ofc you just point with mouse on 2 known visable locations when map i out and it will show your location or you can point to 3rd to show it's location on map),you have compass but in night or woods where you can't see far you can easily get lost with no idea where you going.Due to plague you can't swim or run long but you can gather plants and then study them and than make medicines on science stations than will boost your strengths, endurance, heal you or reduce fewer for limited time(this last is essential) but you can only carry one plan at time, you also need clean water to survive.I played game for few hours so far and there are no NPC interactions so far so you are alone, except for thing that is hunting you. There is no combat you sneak or you run.Movement is realistic so if you go uphill you will be noticable slower, and if you run downhill you can't stop right away and you even might lose balance and roll downhill and hurt yourself or fall in watter(if you boosted strenght you can swim if not you can try to reach shore but you might get blured vision temporary due to lack of oxygen)which can happen easily when you are running for your life.Game is saved on lamps inside houses or on sleeping,Goal is finding all ingredients and way to make cure.So far so good,I am having fun definitively unique experience.

Still playing Eador: Genesis, super addicting game if you like TBS Fantasy.

It has lots going on, the city building and resource management of a 4X game, the leveling of Hero's and troops like an RPG, and the tactical game of a HoMM/AoW.

A really excellent Let's Play on You Tube if you want to have a closer look-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLR_hS9YSrg

Just to say that I almost bought Miasmata, but then I've learned you can't save the game just anywhere but only on certain points.

And you know what does that mean. I'm playing games on PC, not on a console. The only game I could bare till the end on PC with savepoints was Grandia2. But that was ages ago, today I'd probably uninstall it after 5 minutes of playing.

I'm sure Miasmata is a great and unique game, hell I was the first one who posted about it here, but I can't accept console stuff on my PC, sorry. I'll wait for a patch/mod for saving the game anytime, if it gets released, I'll buy the game.

In the meantime… I actually didn't play anything on my PC for days but am wasting time on TV watching movies and series. In fact I've uninstalled/backuped everything except Anno2070 and am still contemplating which game to buy or to replay. Miasmata was the candidate #1, skipped it. Farcry3 is the candidate #2, but I still haven't heard anything objective about it (read: anything from players on this forum) so I'm not that eager to buy it. Perhaps I should try again Mark Leung: Revenge of thy bitch… No. Norespawn mod doesn't exist yet.

Unsure what to do with myself, I'm gonna start another Anno2070 mission… Singleplayer one ofcourse.

Game simply wouldn't be same with save anywhere it's part of core gameplay similar to lone survivor.Speaking off miasmata has similar feel to it despite fact that one is 2D and other 3D.

Believe it or not, I am still playing ME3 multi-player coop. There is a ton of unlockable weapons, upgrades, character builds/races that you only get randomly and slowly by spending in-game earned funny money on packs in the store. Talk about a terrible temptation for completists like myself who like the thrill of the random drop/gamble. Hopefully I'll get tired once I am done trying out all the unique powers in character builds and assorted rare/ultra-rare weapons.

King's Bounty: Warriors of the North - Taking a break since I arrived in the Freedom Islands and all enemies are weak, very weak and even if the difficulty rating is higher, they're still pretty weak. I think the creatures and your hero have so many skills, magical abilities, songs, Valkyre abilities which are inevitably overpowered in many cases, especially when you combine in certain wyas. I remember Armored Princess being more difficult.

Aside from the annoying spelling mistakes, I like the sense of adventure of a young viking being forced to travel the outside word, with each location offering something wondrous or a quirky NPC.

Dishonored - Just about to finish the 2nd "good", no kill, pure stealth playthrough. I'm quite obsessed about the setting, the characters and the story. Won't be touching the DLC since I ignore all "arena" DLCs.

Bioshock - Came back from Dishonored wanting something similar so I decided to finally try Bioshock. With hard difficulty and no Vita Chambers, I find that I have to wisely use my weapons and skills. I appreciate the setting, but it's a bit too dark. I like humour, like in FO, and touching, more lighter moments. Bloodlines is a great example of how to successfully combine these elements: a ridiculously funny game in a horror setting.

The game could also use actual characters with whom you could interact :/.

I'm through replaying PS:T and FO2 for the hundredth times, so next up will be Rage. There seem to be a lot of characters, even though I think you don't actually speak.

How is Rage? Doesn't seem like it made a huge impression.

whoa, didn't know anyone else here played the game. its funny though as i just more or less gave up the game this week. well taking a few weeks break atleast. it is addictive, met some cool people on it and i never play multiplayer. recently i passed the 1000 hour mark on it which i've never done with any game before. but yeah in a few weeks i'll probably be back to it even though i unlocked everything completely a few months ago it still has enough variety to keep things interesting. too bad origin still sucks so much. feel free to add me "Zamboni_King" if you desire. normally play gold or platinum, fyi

Can you play the co-op offline alone (with bots as companions or alone)? Are there any offline multiplayer modes in ME3 (with bots)?

curious, I'll add you as my friend. My handle is Thrasher91604 (surprise), although I am not very good. Still pretty much sticking to bronze and silver matches. I need a better mousepad than a magazine that slides across the table during key tense moments. I USED to be good at twitch shooters, but this one instakillls me too much on harder difficulties.

Spoon, you can create a private match and just not invite anyone I believe. No companions, though. I should try it. But I think it would it would be hard solo. Though there are lots of videos of people doing it. Some of the objectives leave you vulnerable by yourself. Not sure how that would work.

In general, you fight bots (reapers, cerberus, geth, collectors), not other players in coop style. There is no PvP style multiplayer. The objectives reward teamwork with the other players.

I just started playing Dishonored last night. Still in the first area, but it seems entertaining enough so far, and I'm being reminded of Thief which is a good thing. What difficulty are you playing on? I'm playing on Hard and I'm already starting to think that's a mistake for a first playthrough.

Visuals are a mixed bag. While I like the art style, some of the textures in the game are really ugly from a technical standpoint.

It doesn't live up to the hype. Not a terrible game if you got it cheap though. It does have some interesting areas, and the races are actually quite fun if you enjoy that sort of thing.

I tried one of the beta weekends and the cinematics and story were interesting, but didn't care much for the gameplay.

Is it worth downloading the F2P version and playing through this as a single player game?

I'd say "Very Hard" is the only setting worth playing. The idea is that the stealth gameplay is most fun when the enemies are very dangerous, so if you get caught you are quickly killed unless you manage to run away.

Also, for your first playthrough I highly recommend disabling objective / context markers and avoiding use of the heart gadget. It's more fun to explore each area and discover the runes, paintings and bone charms on your own, which you can only do once.

Well, that would depend on your tastes. I don't think it qualifies as a good singleplayer game, to be honest. That said, if you don't mind socialising or getting together with friends to take on some flashpoints or PvP - it's definitely worth it for no cost.

But as a straight-up singleplayer game, it can't begin to compare with the KotORs.

Thrasher sums it up well. You can solo, but its just you vs. the enemies. You have to be online though, and this is actually a good method for trying out builds. although i've only done solo gold all the way through extraction twice, when i normally solo i do it on gold usually the first 3 waves which are much easier to handle and net you far more challenge points than lower difficulties. objective waves and sync-kills are the biggest problem with soloing though on any difficulty level. soloing bronze though is good for beginners though as part of the rub with the game is th the level or even absense of your gear and equipment make a huge difference in the amount of damage you can do, etc despite skill level. leveling a character class to 20 itself is actually pretty easy. due to this and the fact that i promoted and releveled charcters alot, i actually stuck with mostly silver for first 4 months or more.

look forward to some games in the future Thraser. when i do public games theres often many people who aren't really gold or platinum players anyhow. still gold is really the best level to play on as it can be very challenging especially against collectors but its totally doable for good silver players, and playing the tougher difficulties and with better players provides lots of examples of what works and doesn't even if you stick with other levels.

JDR13 - i agree with Count on keeping to the harder difficulties though i disagree about the heart. the amount of dialogue the heart has about nearly everything should not be missed. unless you can guarantee a 2nd playthough which, for me is something that never seems to pan out these days on any game you'll be missing out on a huge element of the game/gameplay the RPS article from yesterday sums this up http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012…onoreds-heart/
