I'd commute to NYC from Austin if I got to live in that house on the weekends (I want the furniture too though).

This is the worst time to sell here in the U.S. Makes me wonder if he's having money problems.

Austin has been fairly insulated from the Real Estate downturn though, as has most of Texas. So it might not be that bad of a time to sell, especially given the carrying cost of the property (I believe he actually lives in Britannia Manor III now).
Plus giving the economic forecast, selling now might be quite prudent!
